Custom domain for your board

Serve your roadmap, voting board and public boards from a domain you own instead of a votefirst.app address. The feature described on the marketing site has the plan and the pricing.

Custom domains need the project owner on the PRO plan. On any other plan the setting is hidden and saving a domain is refused with plan_limit.

Point the domain at VoteFirst

At your DNS provider, add a CNAME record for the name you want to use, pointing at roadmap.votefirst.app. A subdomain such as roadmap.yourdomain.com or feedback.yourdomain.com works; a bare apex domain does not, because a CNAME cannot sit at the root of a zone.

Enter it in the dashboard

Open Settings, then General, and find Custom domain. Type the domain into Domain and press Save.

The certificate

The certificate for your domain is issued automatically the first time somebody visits it, once the CNAME record resolves. There is no certificate to upload and nothing else to configure.

Check that it worked

Visit the domain in a browser. Once the DNS record has propagated, it answers with your public roadmap and the certificate is already in place.

Your votefirst.app address keeps working alongside the custom domain; neither replaces the other.

What the domain serves

Three addresses on the custom domain map onto your project:

On your domainWhat it shows
/Your public roadmap.
/voting_boardThe voting board.
/board/<slug>One of your named boards, by its slug.

Any other address on the domain is not rewritten to your project, so a page such as the changelog stays on your votefirst.app address.
