LaunchNotes is two hundred and forty nine, for one page and two users

There is exactly one published number on LaunchNotes' price list and two counters attached to it. Both are small, and knowing that before a demo is the difference between a useful conversation and a wasted one.

Everything below was read on LaunchNotes' own pricing page on 14 September 2026. The wall on Growth and what the annual figure comes to are worked out separately.

The LaunchNotes pricing page read 2026-09-14, Growth at two hundred and forty nine dollars a month billed annually with one page and two users, and a custom priced Premium plan beside it

What does LaunchNotes cost?

Two plans, one price.

Plan Price
Growth $249, billed annually
Premium Custom, billed annually
  • Growth includes 1 page, 2 users, their AI draft writer, an MCP server, the in app widget, the release notes module, the roadmap module, feedback management, and single sign on with JWT.
  • Premium includes everything above, plus advanced segmentation, AI tone and voice, full white labelling, multiple pages, a custom user count, SAML, audit logs, a custom SLA, a dedicated account manager, concierge design and backlog migration.

Their own answer says the page count is usually the deciding factor between the two. Growth includes one custom domain and five thousand emails a month sent through them. Premium supports multiple custom domains and lets you bring your own email provider.

If that arithmetic came out badly, a trial here is 14 days with a card at signup and the bill after it is $9 or $39 a month.

What are the two counters?

A page and a user, and both are smaller than they sound.

A LaunchNotes page is one branded communication channel. One page means one product line, one audience, one set of release notes. Their own answer says teams needing multiple pages move up to Premium, which is custom priced.

Two users means two of your colleagues have logins. Everybody who reads the page is a subscriber rather than a user, so the readership is not the meter, which is the right decision. But a product team of five running two products is outside Growth on both counters at once.

Is it a feedback board?

There is a feedback module and the product is a release communication tool.

Their own module list is release notes, changelog, roadmap, feedback and a widget, and the order is not an accident. LaunchNotes exists so that what you shipped reaches the people who should hear about it, segmented by audience, in your brand, on your domain, with an AI writer drafting it.

A feedback board runs the other direction. Customers post, other customers vote, and the ranking tells you what to build. Both things are on both products and each is built around one of them.

The public board a visitor reads, three columns wide, each request carrying its vote count, its views and its comment count

What is LaunchNotes?

A release communication product. It exists so that what you shipped reaches the people who should hear about it.

You write the release note, choose which audience sees it, and publish it to a branded page on your own domain, to an in app widget, and by email through their infrastructure.

Their AI draft writer does the first pass and, on Premium, matches a tone you define. Around that sit a roadmap, a changelog and a feedback module, and an MCP server for reaching the whole thing from an assistant.

The reason the price starts where it does is that the buyer is usually a product marketing or product operations team with an audience to segment and a brand to keep, rather than one person who wants a board.

Does LaunchNotes weight votes by revenue?

Nothing on the pages we read on 14 September 2026 mentions weighting a vote by what the voter pays.

Advanced segmentation on Premium sorts who sees which announcement, which is a different question from what a vote is worth.

Does LaunchNotes have a free plan?

No. Their pricing page read on 14 September 2026 publishes one price and nothing under it.

What this costs: two plans and a one off.

Does LaunchNotes have a public roadmap, single sign on, an API and a CSV export?

LaunchNotes carries a roadmap module that requests are promoted into. LaunchNotes carries SAML single sign on on Premium. The LaunchNotes API is GraphQL, with read tokens, management tokens and webhooks beside it, and LaunchNotes exports feedback as a CSV.

The changelog is not a module here, it is what LaunchNotes is. Ours publishes a public roadmap with a Denied column on every plan, and signs a voter in with a token from your own application on the thirty nine dollar plan rather than with SAML.

The private board, with Pending approval holding four suggestions nobody has let through yet, Suggested beside it and Denied with the reason written on each card

Is there a free LaunchNotes alternative?

Yes, several, and none of them is LaunchNotes. Headway's free tier carries unlimited changelogs, and Beamer's runs to a thousand monthly active users with one teammate.

Both were read on their own pages on 14 September 2026, and both are announcement tools rather than places customers ask for things. This product is not one of them. There is no free plan here, only a fourteen day trial that asks for a card at signup.

Is LaunchNotes worth it, and when is it the better answer?

Release communication is a job somebody owns. Segmented audiences, a branded page, an email programme and an approval flow are real work and they built a product for it.

You are announcing to enterprise customers. SAML for admins and subscribers, audit logs and a custom SLA are on Premium because somebody's procurement asked for them.

You need the writing help. Their draft writer and tone controls are aimed squarely at the part everybody puts off.

When is ours?

Your budget for this is not two hundred and forty nine dollars a month. Ours is nine, and the changelog is on that plan.

You have more than two people or more than one product. Both push past Growth, and the next step is a quote.

You want the board more than the broadcast. The changelog here is a page attached to a board rather than a communication product in its own right, and that is the trade.

What does ours cost?

Nine dollars a month for one project, thirty nine for unlimited projects, a team, the API and a custom domain.

Two hundred and forty nine against thirty nine is not a comparison anybody needs help with, so here is the useful part instead.

What their price buys that ours does not is audience segmentation, an email programme through their infrastructure, approval workflows, white labelling and the security paperwork. If none of those is a requirement, most of the difference is not being spent on you.

The whole field's prices and units are on one page.
