Feedback tool page headings, one thousand seven hundred and thirty one counted

This is the feedback tool page headings data as a file. Every second level heading that at least two different vendors in this category write, counted across 11,667 pages on 56 vendor domains, each row carrying the heading, how many pages use it, how many separate vendors use it, whether it is phrased as a question, and the kind of page it appears on most.

The two vendor floor is the whole design. A heading one company repeats on four hundred pages is that company's template. A heading eight companies arrive at independently is what the category thinks the question is.

What headings do feedback tool vendors actually write?

The two commonest are not headings about anything.

Frequently Asked Questions appears on 1,458 pages across 39 of the 56 vendors, and Conclusion appears on 1,053 pages across 38. Then Final Thoughts on 95 pages across 22 vendors, Key Takeaways on 104 across 18, How It Works on 77 across 16, and Wrapping up on 142 across 15. Six of the seven most widely shared headings in this category are furniture.

That is the first reading and it is worth sitting with. A reader scanning a page in this category meets the same six labels before they meet a sentence about feedback, and the labels tell them nothing, which is why this site does not write any of them.

Which questions does the whole category answer?

Five hundred and eighty two of the 1,731 rows end in a question mark, and the widest are definitions.

What is a product roadmap? is written by 14 separate vendors on 19 pages, more than any other real question. What are release notes? follows at 13 vendors, What is Product Management? at 10, What is customer feedback? at 10, What is A/B testing? at 9, What is a Product Manager? at 8, What is feature voting? at 8 and What is a changelog? at 8.

Every one of the eight is a definition. Not one of the widely shared questions in this category is about choosing, paying, migrating or measuring.

The buying questions exist, but each is written by one or two vendors in its own words rather than by ten in the same words, so the category agrees on what the terms mean and agrees on nothing else. The glossary here answers the same terms one page at a time.

What kind of page carries these headings?

Blog posts carry 721 of the 1,731 rows, and comparison pages carry the loudest ones.

Glossary entries carry 268 rows, alternatives pages 261, comparison pages 133, integration pages 121, roundups 93, pricing pages 79 and tool pages 31.

The comparison cluster is where the sales headings live. Ready to See for Yourself? and Which One Fits Your Situation? each appear on 226 pages, and Which Tool Should You Choose? on 83 pages across 5 vendors.

Only 86 of the 1,731 rows are written by five or more vendors. So the category has a small shared vocabulary and a very large private one, and most of the private one is one company's page template counted many times.

How was this built, and when does it change?

By fetching the pages once, extracting their headings, normalising them, and counting.

rival-map.py fetch collected 11,726 pages from the sixty nine vendor sitemaps on 13 September 2026, of which 11,667 returned 200. questions-dataset.py reads that file, lowercases each heading and strips punctuation so one wording is one row, drops anything under eight characters, and keeps the rows that at least two vendor domains carry. 41,620 distinct headings were seen and 1,731 met the floor.

The normalisation is crude on purpose. Two headings that differ only in capitalisation or a trailing colon become one row, and two that differ by a word do not. That undercounts agreement rather than overcounting it, so every count in the file is a floor.

The refresh rule is one fetch per quarter, and the next is due on 5 October 2026.

Who is this dataset for?

Anybody writing in this category who wants to know what has already been said and how often.

That includes people who are not going to buy anything here. Nobody will be asked to link to this page and no message will be sent about it. The fetch had to be run for this site's own planning, and 1,731 rows are more useful in public than in a private file.

If you want the pages rather than their headings, all sixty nine sitemaps are enumerated in a second file, and how much vocabulary each vendor's comparison pages share is a third.
