Aha! pricing, where the dearer plan can cost you less

Aha! publishes real numbers, which already puts it ahead of several products in this category. What it does not publish is the one comparison that decides your bill, because two of its plans count users differently and the per user rates cannot be compared to each other.

Every figure below was read on Aha!'s own pricing pages on 9 September 2026, with the billing toggle checked in both positions rather than trusted in the position the page loaded in.

What does Aha! Ideas cost?

Thirty nine dollars a user a month, and you must buy three of them.

The Aha! pricing page read 2026-09-14, showing the Ideas and Roadmaps plans with the per user rate on each and the three paid user minimum printed under the Ideas cards
Aha!'s published prices. Read 14 September 2026.
Plan Paid yearly Paid monthly
Ideas Essentials $39/user/mo $49/user/mo
Ideas Advanced $59/user/mo $74/user/mo

The minimum of three paid users is printed under the price on both cards, which is more than several of their competitors manage. It makes the real entry price a multiplication.

Plan Floor, yearly Floor, monthly
Ideas Essentials $117/mo $147/mo
Ideas Advanced $177/mo $222/mo

Advanced is where the things people assume are standard live, being in app widgets, a branded portal domain, merge suggestions, polls, proxy voting and the Salesforce, HubSpot, Zendesk and Jira integrations.

If that arithmetic came out badly, a trial here is 14 days with a card at signup and the bill after it is $9 or $39 a month whatever the vote count does.

Does Aha! Ideas have a free plan?

No. Their pricing page read on 14 September 2026 carries a free trial that asks for no card and no free tier under it, so the cheapest thing you can keep is a seat, and the minimum order is three of them.

What this costs: two plans and a one off.

What does Aha! roadmaps cost?

Three plans, no minimum at all, and a jump in the middle that is not what it looks like.

Plan Paid yearly Paid monthly
Premium $59/user/mo $74/user/mo
Enterprise $99/user/mo $124/user/mo
Enterprise plus $149/user/mo Yearly only

Every Roadmaps plan includes Aha! Ideas Essentials, so buying Roadmaps gets you the ideas portal without buying Ideas separately. Enterprise plus is annual only, and switching the page to monthly billing replaces its price with the words annual only rather than showing a monthly rate.

There is no seat minimum on any of the three. The only minimum anywhere on that page belongs to the Discovery add on.

Why can the ninety nine dollar plan be cheaper than the fifty nine dollar one?

Because the two plans count different people, and their own comparison says so.

On Premium you pay for every user regardless of what they do. On Enterprise and Enterprise plus you pay only for the people who actively set strategy, build roadmaps and manage work, and unlimited reviewers and viewers are included at no cost.

So the per user rates are not comparable, and the honest question is not which rate is lower. It is how many people at your company need to look at the roadmap without changing it.

Here is the arithmetic with ten people building.

Read only watchers Premium, annually Enterprise, annually
None $590/mo $990/mo
Six $944/mo $990/mo
Seven $1,003/mo $990/mo

The crossover sits at seven watchers for every ten builders. Below that Premium is cheaper and above it Enterprise is, and the gap widens from there because one side of it keeps growing and the other does not.

That is worth working out before you buy rather than after, because the number of people who want to look at a roadmap is the number that grows fastest in most companies.

14 days, a card at signup, then $9 or $39 a month.

Tiers and their multipliers: an Enterprise vote counts five times.

Does Aha! offer discounts?

One, and it is the annual rate.

Every plan on the page read on 14 September 2026 carries two prices, an annual one and a monthly one, and the annual rate is about twenty percent lower on both Ideas plans.

That gap is the whole of the published discount. Committing to a year on Ideas Essentials saves ten dollars a user each month, which at the three user minimum is thirty dollars a month.

No other discount appears anywhere on the page. There is no published rate for a startup, a non profit or an education buyer, and Enterprise plus is annual only rather than annual for less.

What counts as a user?

It depends which product you bought, and this is the part most likely to catch you out.

On Aha! Ideas every internal role needs a paid seat. Their own definitions say so for a contributor, for a reviewer who can see ideas, add them and vote, and for a viewer who can only look at ideas and vote for them.

On Aha! Roadmaps Premium the same rule applies, since you pay for all users regardless of role. On Roadmaps Enterprise and Enterprise plus it does not, and reviewers and viewers become free and unlimited.

Portal users are free everywhere. Their own answer to whether you can have unlimited portals and portal users is a plain yes, and you can create as many public and private portals as you need. Your customers never appear on the bill, which is the right way round and is worth saying clearly.

Their trial is thirty days, on the Advanced plan, colleagues included, and their page says a card is not asked for.

What do the add ons cost?

Per user again, on top.

Add on to Aha! Roadmaps Paid yearly Paid monthly
Ideas Advanced $20/user/mo $25/user/mo
Discovery Advanced $40/user/mo $45/user/mo, minimum three users
Whiteboards Advanced $9/user/mo Listed as an account upgrade
Knowledge Advanced $20/user/mo Listed as an account upgrade
Builder $59/user/mo Listed as an add on per Builder user

The pattern is worth naming. Aha! is a suite of eight products where nearly everything is priced per user per month, so the thing that moves your bill is almost never which features you turn on. It is how many people you have.

What does this cost on VoteFirst?

Nine dollars a month, and thirty nine if you want colleagues.

The nine dollar plan is one project and one person. It carries the public board, the roadmap page, the changelog, the widgets and weighted voting, and it has no seat minimum because it has no seats.

Thirty nine adds more projects, the API, a custom domain and team members, and it does not count the team. We searched our own code three ways for a cap on team members and there is not one, so thirty nine dollars covers your colleagues rather than one of them.

Neither plan meters the people who vote, so a busy board and a quiet one cost the same.

The comparison is only interesting at one end of the market. Aha! is a coherent purchase for a product department and a nine dollar board is not the same thing.

If what you want is a public page where customers post and vote, both of our figures are published, a card is required for the fourteen day trial, and the real billing unit of every tool in the category is on one page.
