What does each one charge?

Forty nine dollars a month for Beamer's changelog, plus feedback as a separate add on, against twenty nine dollars a month for one Nolt board with everything included.

Beamer's forty nine dollars buys the changelog widget and its five thousand monthly active user allowance. The feedback board rides along as a separate add on with its own free tier, or its own ninety nine dollar paid tier if you need private ideas.

Nolt's twenty nine dollars already is the whole feedback board, with a roadmap view built in and unlimited users, unlimited content and unlimited admins on every plan it sells.

How much does Beamer cost compared to Nolt?

It depends on your product's traffic for Beamer and on how many separate boards you run for Nolt, and those two numbers rarely move together.

Both rows at the bottom land on a figure neither vendor prints. Beamer does not publish a rate above fifty thousand monthly active users, and its page reads by contact past that line. Nolt does not publish a rate above five boards either, and its own page reads Enterprise, custom, once you need a sixth.

A single busy product with a small audience favours Nolt's flat board price. A sprawling product portfolio with a modest combined audience favours Beamer's traffic meter, right up until either one runs out of printed numbers.

Which one should you choose?

They are built around different risks, and the honest answer says something real about both.

Nolt is genuinely the better choice for a team that keeps adding colleagues. Unlimited admins on its cheapest plan means the fifth person who needs to answer a customer costs nothing extra, on any of its three tiers.

Beamer's free feedback tier is a working public board, not a stripped demo. Public ideas, comments, a portal and a roadmap, with unlimited votes, for as long as the changelog plan under it stays on its own free tier or any paid one.

Choose Nolt when the board itself, not the widget around it, is the whole point of buying either product.

Why choose Beamer over Nolt, or Nolt over Beamer?

Because one of them already owns a changelog widget your product's audience will see, and the other is a board and nothing more.

Choose Beamer when you already want release notes appearing inside your product for everybody who opens it, and a feedback board is a nice addition riding along for free until you need it private.

Choose Nolt when the feedback board is the actual product you are buying, when you want a private board on the entry plan, or when running several products means five boards on one Pro plan is cheaper than five separate feedback add ons.

Is there a cheaper alternative to both?

Several, and which one wins depends on whether your risk is your product's traffic or your product count.

Against Beamer's monthly active user meter, a flat rate stops growing the moment your product gets popular rather than the moment your board does. Against Nolt's per board tier, a flat rate stops caring how many products you launch.

What does each do with a vote from a big customer?

Read on each vendor's own pages on the dates above. Not published means nobody could read it on the pages opened that day, never that the capability is absent.

Beamer's pages, read on 15 September 2026, say nothing about vote weight, MRR or customer tier. Nolt's, as recorded in our notes on 14 September 2026, say nothing about it either.

Eight of the thirty two vendors in our own matrix describe some form of ordering or weighting by customer revenue in their own words. Neither Beamer nor Nolt is one of the eight, which is an absence on their marketing pages rather than proof about their software.

Can I move from one to the other?

Nolt publishes data export APIs on its Pro plan. Beamer's own pages, read on the day, do not name an export for the feedback board one way or the other.

That gap is worth checking before you commit to either, because finding out what you actually own usually happens on the way out rather than on the way in.

In both directions somebody rebuilds the requests by hand or by script, and the count starts again from zero. Who cast each vote, the comment threads underneath it and the board URLs people have already bookmarked do not reliably survive a move between any two tools in this category.

Where we fit, and where we do not

Both Beamer and Nolt sell a route to a private board, Beamer through its ninety nine dollar Feedback Pro add on and Nolt through private boards on its cheapest plan. We have no private board at any price, and a board here is published to everybody or to nobody.

Both also hand out unlimited teammates without asking for more money. Beamer's paid changelog plans carry unlimited teammates, and Nolt's own headline is unlimited admins on all three of its tiers. We charge for team members, and they do not arrive until the thirty nine dollar plan.

What we do that neither of them does is put a whole number multiplier on a customer's tier and write that weight onto the vote the moment it is cast, on every plan including the nine dollar one.

What is Beamer, and what is Nolt?

Beamer is a changelog and in app announcement widget, with a feedback board and an NPS tool sold beside it as separate add ons, billed by the monthly active users who see the widget.

Nolt is a hosted public feedback board with a roadmap view built into the same board, billed by a tier that holds one board or five, with unlimited users, content and admins on every plan.

Does either one have a free plan?

Beamer does. Its changelog reads free at a thousand monthly active users and one teammate, and its feedback add on carries its own separate free tier of public ideas, comments, a portal and a roadmap with unlimited votes.

Nolt does not. Every new board gets a ten day trial of the Pro plan that asks for no card, and there is nothing free once that trial ends.

The honest summary

Two meters aimed at different fears. Beamer's grows with how popular your product gets, so a quiet board inside a busy product still costs money. Nolt's grows with how many separate products you decide to run, so one busy board on one product stays at its entry price forever.

Both go quiet exactly where the arithmetic gets interesting, Beamer above fifty thousand monthly active users and Nolt above five boards. Neither weights a vote by what the voter pays.
