Intercom feature requests: 3,383 wishlist ideas read

Intercom takes feature requests on the Product Wishlist in its community, where customers post ideas, vote for them and comment, and Intercom sets a status on each. Every idea on it was read on 4 October 2026, 3,383 in all, with status, votes, replies, views, product area and dates. Three were filed in 2020 and most since 2024.

79 of them, 2.3 percent, are marked Released, and 93.8 percent are still Submitted. Intercom says the 20 most voted ideas are inputs to its product roadmap. Of those 20, six are Released, three Planned and two marked Similar functionality, and nine are still Submitted.

Download the file, one row per idea, compressed with gzip. It is free to copy, quote and use commercially. To cite it, link https://votefirst.app/en/data/intercom-feature-requests and give the read date, 4 October 2026. Each row names the idea's number, which ends its address on the community: the first row above is idea 4601, merging conversations. The areas column holds Intercom's product area numbers: 2 Core Inbox, 25 Fin and AI, 3 Knowledge and Help Center, 9 Messenger, 4 Workflows, 32 Tickets, 12 Reporting, 22 Integrations, API and Custom Actions, 29 Data, 1 Proactive Support, 31 Phone, 27 Workload Management, 28 Mobile Conversations App, 30 Omnichannel, 13 Security and Compliance, 23 Third party Apps and Plugins and 24 Intercom Community. 597 ideas sit in two areas and 196 in none.

How do you submit a feature request to Intercom?

Sign in to the Intercom Community and open the Product Wishlist. Intercom's help article on feature requests asks for a search or a browse by category first, and an upvote or comment on an existing idea where one fits. A new idea starts from Share an idea. Creating or upvoting an idea subscribes you to it, and Intercom emails each new comment and status change on an idea you submitted.

The same article says the 20 most voted ideas are considered as inputs to the product roadmap, alongside complexity, impact, reach and fit with Intercom's own plans. It describes an idea moving from Discussion ongoing to Planned to Implemented. The Wishlist itself shows Submitted and Released in their place, and the pipeline panel on the ideas page still lists the older names.

What do the statuses on Intercom's Product Wishlist mean?

Status Ideas Median age of the idea
Submitted 3,174 334 days
Archived 101 1,116 days
Released 79 685 days
Similar functionality 15 951 days
In Beta 7 698 days
Planned 7 843 days

Intercom also defines an In Build status, which no idea carried on the read date. Half of the Submitted ideas were filed in the last eleven months, and 1,479 have waited more than a year. 1,990 of them show no activity for six months or more.

The rest of the 20 run from 94 votes down to 70, where two ideas tie. Released among them are emoji reactions on internal notes, holiday hours and closures, and editing notes. Planned is a custom personality for Fin, Intercom's AI agent. Still Submitted are splitting a conversation, linking several tracker tickets to a conversation, satisfaction surveys on conversations with several participants, better spam control and filling in a ticket's subject with AI.

Being in the top 20 is not a fixed place. The 20th idea has 70 votes and the 21st, tagging a whole team, has 69 and is Released.

Do votes get an Intercom feature request built?

Past about twenty votes they help, and below it they barely move. Ideas with under ten votes are Released 0.8 to 2.3 percent of the time. Past fifty, more than a quarter are.

Votes Ideas Released Planned or In Beta Archived Still Submitted
0 132 2.3% 0.0% 22.0% 74.2%

Few ideas get there. The median idea has two votes, a third have one, 10.5 percent have ten or more, and 36 have fifty or more. 62.3 percent have no reply, and the median idea has been viewed 23 times. Archiving falls mostly on ideas with one vote or none, 75 of the 101.

How many Intercom feature requests get released?

Filed in Ideas Released Archived Still Submitted

2025 1,208 2.1% 0.0% 97.8%
2026 1,434 0.5% 0.0% 99.1%

Archiving is a 2023 story: 70 of that year's 182 ideas are Archived, and no idea filed in 2025 or 2026 is. The Wishlist is also getting busier. It took about a hundred ideas a month in 2025 and about 160 a month in 2026, with 189 in both April and July.

How does Intercom compare with other public trackers?

It answers less than Zendesk's product feedback board, read the same day, where 6.1 percent of 7,761 requests are Delivered and 29.7 percent carry a status other than new. Miro's Wish List, on the same software, has delivered 4.2 percent of 4,892 ideas. Intercom's and Zendesk's boards both lean on votes: on Zendesk's, a request with five votes is rarely left unanswered, and on Intercom's the change comes later, past twenty votes and more clearly past fifty. Across the 634 Canny and Featurebase boards read, the median request also holds two votes.

What does that mean for your own feature request board?

A promise about the most voted ideas tells a voter where the line is. It also leaves most of a board, the ideas with two votes, without one. On VoteFirst, Denied and Completed are columns on the board by default, so the answer sits where voters look, whatever the vote count. Voting is anonymous by default, and when a release includes a request, every voter who was signed in when they voted is emailed that release. VoteFirst has no Intercom integration, so a request that arrives in an Intercom conversation is added to the board by hand.

How was this read, and when does it change?

Each page of the Product Wishlist at community.intercom.com carries the ideas it shows as data. On 4 October 2026 every page was read in the board's default order, 3,383 ideas in all, matching the total the board reports. Votes, replies and views are as of the read date, and each status is the one the board showed that day. The read cannot tell when a status was set, and an idea removed from the board could not be read.

The public file holds one row per idea with no titles or authors. The next read is due by 1 January 2027.
