Discord feature requests: 85,272 posts and what got built

For years Discord collected feature requests on a public feedback board, a Zendesk community where each post could be voted up or down and carry a status set by Discord. Every post on it was read on 4 October 2026, 85,272 in all, filed from 31 October 2018 to May 2026, with its topic, status, votes, comments and dates.

159 of them, 0.2 percent, are marked Completed. Discord set a status on 2,732 of the 14,619 posts filed in 2018 and 2019, and on 42 of the 70,653 filed since. Its help centre sent feature requests to the board until 14 September 2026.

Download the file, one row per post, compressed with gzip. It is free to copy, quote and use commercially. To cite it, link https://votefirst.app/en/data/discord-feature-requests and give the read date, 4 October 2026. Each row names the post's number, which ends its address on the board: the first row above is post 14337329256983. The vote_sum column is the score the board shows, up votes less down votes, and vote_count counts both.

How do you submit a feature request to Discord?

Through the Feedback Form. Discord's help article on feature requests, rewritten on 14 September 2026, sends them to its support portal at dis.gd/contact, where Feedback is one of the choices in the menu that asks what Discord can help with. Picking it loads the form.

The form is one way. Discord says each entry is read and passed to the team it concerns, such as product, engineering or design, that no one replies, and that it cannot say when or whether a suggestion will be acted on. An entry cannot be added to once it is sent. Account problems and refunds go to the same portal under their own choices, because the form is not watched for support requests.

Until that rewrite, the same article named feedback.discord.com as the best place for a feature request and asked readers to vote for the ones they wanted, in a version that had stood since June 2024. That address opened the voting board. It now leads to the form.

What happened to Discord's feedback board?

People kept posting long after Discord stopped answering. Posting grew from about a thousand posts a month in 2019 to 2,234 a month in 2021, then fell to 465 a month in 2024. After a last burst of 294 posts in the final week of March 2025, it all but stopped: 26 posts in April 2025 and 17 in the seventeen months since.

Statuses stopped much earlier. Discord set one on 18.7 percent of the posts filed in 2018 and 2019, and on 0.06 percent of those filed from 2020 on. The newest post with any status was filed on 16 August 2023. Comments tell the same story: 2,624 posts from 2018 and 2019 are closed to new comments, against 15 from all the years since.

Filed in Posts Completed Any status
2018 2,241 73 (3.3%) 874 (39.0%)
2019 12,378 55 (0.4%) 1,858 (15.0%)
2020 21,297 18 (0.1%) 29 (0.1%)
2021 26,803 9 9
2022 8,080 1 1
2023 8,551 3 3
2024 5,575 0 0
2025 and 2026 347 0 0

2018 covers only its last two months, since the board opened on 31 October. A status records what Discord said on the board, and a missing one says nothing about what shipped. Polls, the second most voted post, filed in November 2018 with 17,109 votes, has none, although Discord's help centre has carried a Polls FAQ since March 2024.

What do the statuses on Discord's feedback board mean?

Zendesk, which runs the board, lets moderators set Planned, Not planned or Completed on any post, or mark it Answered.

Status Posts Newest post carrying it
No status 82,498 May 2026
Answered 2,590 May 2020
Completed 159 August 2023
Not planned 17 October 2020
Planned 8 October 2019

The eight marked Planned were all filed in 2018 and 2019 and still carry it, among them a way to see which invite a member joined through, with 6,184 votes, and kicks and bans that end after a set time, with 3,176. Among the seventeen marked Not planned are password protected channels, with 2,647 votes, and self hosted servers, with 1,190.

Do votes get a Discord feature request built?

They did while Discord answered. Among posts filed in 2018 and 2019, 0.1 percent of those scoring zero or below are marked Completed, against 37.5 percent of those past a thousand. Across the whole board the slope looks the same.

Score Posts Completed Answered No status
0 or below 34,642 0.04% 4.1% 95.8%
1 to 4 29,617 0.03% 1.8% 98.1%
5 to 9 7,880 0.1% 2.5% 97.4%
10 to 49 11,559 0.2% 2.9% 96.9%
50 to 99 851 2.1% 4.5% 93.4%
100 to 999 598 7.0% 7.4% 84.4%
1,000 or more 125 36.0% 6.4% 50.4%

Most of that slope is age. 114 of the 125 posts past a thousand were filed in 2018, when Discord still set statuses, and fourteen of the fifteen most voted were posted in the board's first nine days. A post filed from 2020 on had almost no chance of a status at any score.

The median post has a score of one. 40.6 percent score zero or below, 9.2 percent below zero, and 15.4 percent have ten or more. A quarter of the posts, 26.5 percent, drew at least one down vote, and across the board 1,144,677 up votes were cast against 117,817 down. Half the posts, 50.7 percent, have no comment.

The most voted post on the board asks Discord not to build something. It was posted on 3 May 2023 against Discord's plan to replace four digit tags with unique usernames, and its 1,023 comments are the most on any post. The change went ahead, as Discord's usernames article describes, and the post carries no status.

How does Discord compare with other public trackers?

It completed a far smaller share than the other idea boards read the same day. Zendesk delivered 6.1 percent of the requests on its own board, Autodesk implemented 5.4 percent of its ideas, Spotify 4.7 percent and Mozilla 2.4 percent, against Discord's 0.2 percent.

At the top the boards are closer. Past a thousand votes, 36.0 percent of Discord's posts are marked Completed, against 49.8 percent of Spotify's ideas past a thousand kudos. On the Discourse forums read, leaving out Meta, no reply falls from 43.2 percent of requests with no votes to 0.8 percent of those past fifty. Discord's board left half its posts with no comment at all. Minecraft's feedback site, on the same software, set a status on 1.6 percent of its posts from 2018 and 2019 and on 0.05 percent of those filed since.

What does that mean for your own feature request board?

A board that is no longer answered keeps taking posts. Discord's took 70,653 in the years after it stopped setting statuses, and 42 of them got one. On VoteFirst, Denied and Completed are columns on the board by default, so the answer sits where voters look. Voting is anonymous by default, and when a release includes a request, every voter who was signed in when they voted is emailed that release.

How was this read, and when does it change?

The Zendesk Help Center API behind the board answers without a sign in. On 4 October 2026 it listed every post in each of the board's twelve topics, 85,272 in all; one topic, Voice Filters, holds none. Scores, comments and followers are as of the read date, and each status is the one the board showed that day. The read cannot tell when a status was set, and a post hidden from the board, if there is any, could not be read and is not counted. Entries sent through the Feedback Form are not public and are not in the file.

The public file holds one row per post with no titles or authors. The next read is due by 1 January 2027.

14 days, a card at signup, then $9 or $39 a month.
