Mozilla takes ideas for Firefox and its other products on Mozilla Connect, a community where each idea collects kudos as votes and carries a status set by Mozilla. The first ideas were posted on 25 February 2022. Every idea on the board was read on 4 October 2026, 10,378 in all, with its status, kudos, replies, views and dates.
95.6 percent are still marked New idea, the status every idea starts with. Mozilla has set any other status on 395 of them, 3.8 percent, and 252, or 2.4 percent, are marked Delivered. Kudos make a large difference: 0.4 percent of ideas with one kudo or none were delivered, against 25.6 percent of those past a hundred.

Download the file, one row per idea, compressed with gzip, with the ideas from Spotify's community in the same file. It is free to copy, quote and use commercially. To cite it, link https://votefirst.app/en/data/firefox-feature-requests and give the read date, 4 October 2026. Each Mozilla row names the idea's number, which ends its address on Mozilla Connect: the first row above is idea 303. In the status column, accepted is the key for In development.
How do you submit a feature request for Firefox?
Post it in the Ideas section of Mozilla Connect, after reading its Ideas Guidelines. Search first, and if the idea is already there, give it your kudos and join the discussion instead of posting it again. Bugs go to Bugzilla and support questions to Mozilla's help centre, not to Ideas. Post one idea at a time, give it a clear title and enough detail, and write it in English.
Labels matter more than they look. Mozilla's product teams receive reports by label, so an idea for Firefox on Android should carry the mobile and Android labels. Every new idea is moderated before it appears, which can take a day or two, and an edited idea goes through moderation again with its kudos kept.
The guidelines say in so many words that kudos equal votes, given with a thumbs up, and that votes are what bring an idea to the number Mozilla needs before reviewing it. The Idea Journey adds that Mozilla's staff also read ideas by label and keyword, so votes are not the only way in.
What do the statuses on Mozilla Connect mean?
| Status | What Mozilla says it means | Ideas |
|---|---|---|
| New idea | Open for voting and discussion | 9,924 |
| Trending idea | A lot of support in a short time | 59 |
| Needs more | More votes needed before it goes to the team | 2 |
| In review | The team is reviewing it for possible adoption | 12 |
| Exploring more | Reviewed, and needing more research before a decision | 9 |
| In development | Approved and on the current roadmap | 63 |
| Not right now | Not a fit for now, to be looked at again later | 10 |
| Delivered | Shipped | 252 |
| Closed | Does not meet the community's requirements | 47 |
Closed is for ideas that break the guidelines, not for ideas Mozilla decided against. The status for that is Not right now, and ten ideas carry it. Mozilla has marked 25 ideas delivered for every one it has turned down in words.
How many Firefox ideas get delivered?
252 of 10,378, or 2.4 percent. The share falls with the year an idea was filed, because a younger idea has had less time.
| Filed in | Ideas | Delivered |
|---|---|---|
| 2022 | 2,067 | 104 (5.0%) |
| 2023 | 2,305 | 77 (3.3%) |
| 2024 | 2,105 | 37 (1.8%) |
| 2025 | 2,240 | 28 (1.2%) |
| 2026 | 1,661 | 6 (0.4%) |
Even the oldest year has delivered one idea in twenty. The 9,924 ideas still marked New idea were filed a median 832 days before the read, and 78.0 percent of them are more than a year old.
Do kudos get a Firefox idea delivered?
They do. Each step up in kudos brings a higher share delivered and a higher share with any answer from Mozilla.
| Kudos | Ideas | Delivered | In development | Any status from Mozilla | Still New idea |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0 or 1 | 2,982 | 0.4% | 0.0% | 1.3% | 98.7% |
| 2 to 4 | 3,942 | 0.8% | 0.2% | 1.5% | 98.5% |
| 5 to 9 | 1,784 | 2.4% | 0.2% | 2.9% | 96.8% |
| 10 to 49 | 1,333 | 7.8% | 1.4% | 9.8% | 89.9% |
| 50 to 99 | 165 | 11.5% | 7.9% | 20.6% | 75.2% |
| 100 or more | 172 | 25.6% | 12.2% | 47.7% | 29.7% |
Any status from Mozilla means anything other than New idea and Trending idea. The rest of the hundred kudos group is marked Trending idea, which records a burst of support rather than a decision.
Most ideas never get near those numbers. The median idea has three kudos, nine in ten have 15 or fewer, and 16.1 percent have ten or more. The median idea has two replies, and only 3.1 percent have none.
Votes are not the whole story. 85 of the 252 delivered ideas had fewer than ten kudos, and 51 of the 172 ideas past a hundred kudos are still marked New idea.

How does Mozilla Connect compare with other public trackers?
It delivers a smaller share than the developer trackers read, which take a different kind of request. JetBrains built 32.2 percent of its feature requests, VS Code 28.5 percent and GitLab 23.3 percent of those from paying customers. Those requests come from people filing about tools they work in. Mozilla Connect takes ideas from Firefox's general public, and most of them are seen by few people: the median idea has 994 views.
What it shares with the rest is the slope at the top. On Bitwarden's forum, 34.2 percent of requests past fifty votes were released. On Mozilla Connect, 25.6 percent of ideas past a hundred kudos were delivered, and almost half have some answer from Mozilla. On Spotify's Idea Exchange, 41.2 percent of ideas past a hundred kudos are marked Implemented, and on Autodesk's idea boards, 26.1 percent of ideas with a hundred to 499 votes.
What does that mean for your own feature request board?
A board with ten thousand ideas and a status on four in a hundred tells most of the people who posted nothing at all. On VoteFirst, Denied and Completed are columns on the board by default, so a request that will not be built can say so. Voting is anonymous by default, and when a release includes a request, every voter who was signed in when they voted is emailed that release.
How was this read, and when does it change?
The Khoros search API that runs Mozilla Connect answers without a sign in. On 4 October 2026 it listed every topic on the Ideas board, 10,379, and the Ideas Guidelines post, which sits on the board as a topic, was left out. Kudos, replies and views are as of the read date, and each idea's status is the one shown on the board that day. An idea hidden from the community, if there is any, could not be read and is not counted.
The public file holds one row per idea with no titles or authors, and also carries the 7,786 ideas read the same day from Spotify's community.
The next read is due by 1 January 2027.
