Minecraft feature requests: 144,812 suggestions read

The Minecraft team takes suggestions on its feedback site, feedback.minecraft.net, a Zendesk community where players post ideas, vote for them and comment, and where the team can mark a post Planned, Not planned, Completed or Answered. Every post on it was read on 4 October 2026, 144,812 in all, filed from 24 May 2018, with topic, status, votes, comments, followers and dates.

311 of them, 0.2 percent, carry any status, and 61 are marked Completed. The site is busier than it has ever been: 29,088 posts were filed in the first nine months of 2026, more than in any whole year before, and September 2026 was the busiest month on record with 4,467.

Download the file, one row per post, compressed with gzip. It is free to copy, quote and use commercially. To cite it, link https://votefirst.app/en/data/minecraft-feature-requests and give the read date, 4 October 2026. Each row names the post's number, which ends its address on the site: the first row above is post 360010854532, the Caves Update. The site counts up votes only, so vote_sum and vote_count agree on all but eight posts.

How do you submit a feature request to Minecraft?

Sign in to feedback.minecraft.net with a Microsoft account and post the idea in the topic it fits. Anyone can read and search without signing in, and posting, voting and commenting need the account. The site's FAQ, updated on 21 August 2026, and its posting guidelines set the rules:

  • Search first, and vote for or comment on an existing post in place of a new one. The FAQ counts a vote as saying yes, good idea.
  • Put one idea in each post. Lists of ideas are removed.
  • Write in English. Posts in other languages are removed.
  • Keep the title to 75 characters and the text to 1,500, spaces included.
  • Leave out links outside Minecraft's own pages. The posting help allows Minecraft's bug tracker and the official wiki.
  • Do not repost ideas the team has already turned down. The old list of previously considered suggestions, last updated in May 2020 and now marked archived, names guns, vertical slabs and furniture among them.

A post can wait in a moderation queue before it appears, and waits longer when the team's offices are closed or a big snapshot or patch ships. Posts that break the rules may be removed without an email. The FAQ says the site gets thousands of posts every week. The team may retitle a post or move it to another topic so it is easier to find, and only the team adds tags. A broken game is a support question, and the FAQ links a separate section for it.

Which Minecraft suggestions got an answer?

Very few, and most of those from the site's first two years. 241 of the 14,653 posts filed in 2018 and 2019 carry a status, 1.6 percent. 70 of the 130,159 filed since do, 0.05 percent.

Status Posts Filed in 2018 or 2019 Filed since
No status 144,501 14,412 130,089
Not planned 165 154 11
Answered 63 62 1
Completed 61 12 49
Planned 22 13 9

The team still sets a status now and then. A post asking for Steam Deck support in Minecraft Dungeons II, filed on 30 September 2026, is marked Planned and pinned. The next day the site posted a Minecraft Dungeons II update that makes the game playable on Steam Deck.

Among the posts marked Completed are the Caves Update, the most voted post on the site with 99,658 votes, a command to locate biomes, goats, a cherry blossom biome, mangrove forests, frogs and pausing single player games on Bedrock. A 2025 petition to undo two movement changes, with 18,881 votes, is marked Completed too. Marked Not planned are banner designs on beds, with 36,802 votes, backpacks, with 33,549, a version for the Oculus Quest, slabs, stairs and walls for concrete and terracotta, and seasons. Ostriches, meerkats and baobab trees, all posted in 2018 with more than 33,000 votes each, still carry Planned.

A status records what the team said on the site, and a missing one says nothing about what shipped.

Do votes get a Minecraft feature request built?

Votes are close to the only way a post gets marked. Below fifty votes, fewer than one post in a thousand carries a status. Past a thousand, close to half do.

Votes Posts Share of posts With a status Completed
None 17,272 11.9% 1 0
1 32,250 22.3% 0 0
2 to 4 44,512 30.7% 5 2
5 to 9 24,297 16.8% 15 2
10 to 49 22,110 15.3% 78 21
50 to 99 2,297 1.6% 30 5
100 to 999 1,828 1.3% 75 22
1,000 to 9,999 215 0.1% 91 5
10,000 or more 31 16 4

Votes gather on very few posts. The 2,722,640 votes on the site are spread so that the top 1 percent of posts hold 64.3 percent of them, and the top 10 percent hold 82.9 percent. The median post has three votes, and 58.1 percent have no comment.

Age explains much of it. 166 of the 246 posts past a thousand votes were filed in 2018 and 2019. The median post filed in 2018 has 21 votes, and the median post filed in 2026 has one. A quarter of 2026's posts, 25.3 percent, have no vote yet, and 3.4 percent have ten or more, against 71.9 percent of the posts from 2018.

Which Minecraft feature requests have the most votes?

Eight of the ten were posted in the site's first four months. Jungle villagers, filed in October 2022 for the 1.20 update, is the only one of the ten from after 2019, and it carries no status.

How busy is the Minecraft feedback site?

Filed in Posts Median votes
2018, from 24 May 3,923 21
2019 10,730 7
2020 18,967 6
2021 21,939 5
2022 13,524 3
2023 12,960 2
2024 15,117 2
2025 18,564 2
2026, to 4 October 29,088 1

Posting more than doubled in a year, from 1,898 posts in September 2025 to 4,467 in September 2026, and the four busiest months the site has ever had are June to September 2026. The largest topics are Blocks, Tools, and Items with 29,726 posts, Gameplay with 17,826 and Mobs and Animals with 17,252. An Accessibility topic, whose first post is from December 2025, took 2,747 posts in 2026. Each recent update, such as Chaos Cubed and Wilderness Bound, has a topic of its own.

How does Minecraft compare with other public trackers?

Its status pattern matches Discord's old feedback board, which runs on the same Zendesk community software: Discord set a status on 18.7 percent of the posts filed in 2018 and 2019 and on 0.06 percent of those filed from 2020 on, against Minecraft's 1.6 and 0.05 percent. Posting on Discord's board all but stopped in 2025, while Minecraft's site is growing. Zendesk's own feedback board, read the same day, gives 29.7 percent of its requests a status other than new. Microsoft's Feedback portal, home to Teams, Outlook and XBOX Player Voice, moved 0.86 percent of the posts it took from July 2025 past their first status.

What does that mean for your own feature request board?

A board can grow by thousands of posts a month while the answers stay on the oldest posts. When few posts are ever marked, voters cannot tell a declined idea from one nobody has read, and the same request comes back: a post asking for backpacks was filed again on 9 September 2026, eight years after the first, which is marked Not planned. On VoteFirst, Denied and Completed are columns on the board by default, so the answer sits where voters look. Voting is anonymous by default, and when a release includes a request, every voter who was signed in when they voted is emailed that release.

How was this read, and when does it change?

The Zendesk Help Center API behind the site answers without a sign in. On 4 October 2026 it listed every post in each of the site's 42 topics, 144,812 in all. Votes, comments and followers are as of the read date, and each status is the one the site showed that day. The read cannot tell when a status was set. Posts waiting in moderation, removed or hidden could not be read and are not counted.

The public file holds one row per post with no titles or authors. The next read is due by 1 January 2027.

14 days, a card at signup, then $9 or $39 a month.
