UserJot is free until the third board, Feature Upvote never is

Feature Upvote charges forty nine dollars for a board on day one and never asks for anything more once you are inside it. UserJot asks for nothing until you need a third board, a custom domain or a private one, and unlimited users on every plan including the free one.

What does each one charge?

Feature Upvote's Indie plan is forty nine dollars a board a month billed yearly, or fifty nine billed monthly, and Standard doubles that price for an identical feature list.

UserJot's Free plan holds two boards and three admin roles with no card and no expiry date, and every plan above it still counts users as unlimited.

So the two headline prices answer different questions. Feature Upvote's forty nine tells you what one board costs. UserJot's zero tells you what two boards cost, provided you never need a third, a custom domain or a private one.

How much does Feature Upvote cost compared to UserJot?

Board count is what moves both bills, and here is the arithmetic at three counts.

The second row is the one worth sitting with. UserJot's free plan does not shrink as you approach its own ceiling, so a company running two boards pays the same nothing a company running one board pays. Feature Upvote's bill has already doubled by then.

The third row is where UserJot starts charging, and even then twenty nine dollars a month for five boards costs less than a single board on Feature Upvote.

Which one should you choose?

They start from opposite assumptions about money, and the honest answer names something real about each.

UserJot's free plan is not a shape of a trial with a cap you hit in a week. It has no end date, no card, and unlimited posts and unlimited users on the plan you never pay for. For a first product with nothing to spend, that is a complete answer rather than a taste of one.

Feature Upvote puts single sign on through SAML 2.0 and a private board on the plan you start on, at forty nine dollars. Most of this category holds SAML three tiers up or behind a sales call, and Feature Upvote does not.

Choose UserJot if your board count will stay under three, or a free plan with no expiry matters more than anything else on the list. Choose Feature Upvote if your board has to sit behind an identity provider from day one and you are willing to pay for that immediately.

Why choose Feature Upvote over UserJot, or UserJot over Feature Upvote?

Because one of them prices the board from the first day and the other prices nothing at all until you outgrow it.

Choose Feature Upvote when a single board with heavy traffic needs SAML and a private wall around it, since both sit on the plan you start on rather than one you have to grow into.

Choose UserJot when you are starting a first board with no budget, or running two of them, since the free plan keeps every post, every user and every vote at zero for as long as you stay under its own line.

The choice mostly comes down to whether you already know your board count will cross two, or whether the board needs a login on day one. Everything else on either page follows from that.

Is there a cheaper alternative to both?

Against Feature Upvote's per board rate, nearly anything flat is cheaper from the second board onward, and this site's own plan is nine dollars a month for one project.

Against UserJot's board cap, the comparison only starts once you need a third board, a custom domain or a private one, none of which the free plan gives you.

What does each do with a vote from a big customer?

Neither says, and we checked both rather than assumed it.

Read on each vendor's own pages on the date in the row above. A dash means nobody could read it on the pages opened that day, never that the capability is absent.

Feature Upvote's help centre returns nothing for a search on weighting, and no page of theirs mentions revenue or customer tiers. UserJot's own pages argue against charging per person at all, but say nothing about weighting the vote that person casts once they are in.

Eight of the thirty two vendors we checked describe something revenue related in their own words, and neither of this pair is among them, so a vote from your largest account and a vote from your smallest one move either counter by exactly the same amount.

Can I move from one to the other?

Some of it, and the part that stays behind is the same on nearly every move in this category.

Who cast each vote rather than the running total, the comment threads underneath a request, the original timestamps, and any board link a customer has already bookmarked do not survive a move between these two or almost any pair in this category.

What usually arrives is the request text, the vote counts and the status of each item. Neither vendor's pages we read describe a self serve export, so a person leaving either product should ask support directly rather than expect a button.

Where we fit, and where we do not

Both of these products let you hide a board behind a login, and we have nothing equivalent. Feature Upvote's private board sits on Indie at forty nine dollars. UserJot's sits on Starter at twenty nine. Ours is published to everybody or to nobody, with no password and no invite list, at any price.

Both also carry a form of single sign on tied to an identity provider. Feature Upvote's is SAML 2.0 on Indie. UserJot's is on Professional at fifty nine.

Ours is a signed token your own application issues against a secret shared with the project, which answers a different question than a company directory login does, and it sits on the thirty nine dollar Pro plan.

Neither of the two above ties a vote to what its owner pays us. We do, with a whole number set per tier, written onto the vote at the moment it lands, on every plan down to the nine dollar one.

What is Feature Upvote, and what is UserJot?

Feature Upvote is a single public feedback board, sold per board, with no public roadmap and no changelog on the pages we read. Visitors post and vote without an account.

UserJot is a workspace based feedback board with a roadmap and a changelog built in from the free plan up, and its own pricing page argues that charging per user for a feedback tool is the wrong unit to bill on.

Does either one have a free plan?

UserJot does, and it is genuinely free rather than a trial. Its pricing section, read on 14 September 2026, gives two feedback boards, three admin roles and unlimited users, with no card and no end date.

Feature Upvote does not. Its pricing page, read the same day, carries a thirty day trial that needs no card, tied with two other vendors for the longest span we found rather than standing alone at the top, and nothing free once it ends.

The honest summary

UserJot is free to start and capped by boards. Feature Upvote is paid from the first day and capped by nothing inside the board itself, no limit on suggestions, comments, votes or admins.

A board that will stay under three costs nothing on UserJot and forty nine dollars a month on Feature Upvote.

A board that needs SAML and a private wall from day one costs the same forty nine dollars either way, and Feature Upvote is the one of this pair that ships it on the plan you start on.
