Olvy's bill grows with how many pieces of feedback you are allowed to analyse, a hundred on its cheapest paid plan and ten thousand on the next one up. Beamer's bill grows with how many people open your product and see its changelog widget, whether or not any of them ever says a word.
Everything below was read on each vendor's own pricing page on 15 September 2026.
What does each one charge?
Sixty dollars a month for a hundred analysed feedback items, and forty nine for a changelog whose feedback board rides along free, and neither figure buys the same thing as the other.
| Vendor | From | Billed per | Free plan | Trial |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| VoteFirst | $7.50/mo | plan | – | 14 days, card |
| Beamer | $49/mo | monthly active user | 1,000 MAU | – |
| Olvy | $60/mo | plan | 25 items | – |
Read on each vendor's own pricing page on 2026-09-15.
Olvy's sixty dollars is Essentials, one builder, a hundred feedback items you may analyse, and twenty dollars a month for each integration you connect. Business at two hundred and forty raises the cap to ten thousand items and folds the integrations in.
Forty nine dollars buys Beamer's Starter changelog, and that plan is priced by the size of the crowd who opens your product, not by your team. Feedback lives next to it as its own purchase, free at the entry level or ninety nine dollars billed yearly for the private version.
How much does Olvy cost compared to Beamer?
It depends on how much feedback piles up for Olvy and how many people open your product for Beamer, and those two numbers rarely move together.
| Your situation | Olvy | Beamer |
|---|---|---|
| 1 builder, 2,600 monthly active users, 40 feedback items to analyse, 1 integration, public board is enough | Essentials plus one integration, $80/mo | Starter $49/mo plus Feedback Free, $49/mo |
| 5 builders, 9,200 monthly active users, 300 feedback items to analyse, 3 integrations, private ideas needed | Business, $240/mo | Pro $99/mo plus Feedback Pro $99/mo, $198/mo |
| 15 builders, 58,000 monthly active users, 2,000 feedback items to analyse, 1 integration, private ideas needed | Business plus ten extra builders, $490/mo | Above Scale's 50,000 MAU allowance, priced by contact, plus Feedback Pro $99/mo |
A small team analysing little feedback pays Olvy less than Beamer's audience meter costs once that audience is large. A big team that reads a lot of feedback but keeps a small audience flips the answer the other way.
Olvy prints no ceiling on how many builders you can keep adding, only the flat twenty five dollars charged for each one past the five that are included. Beamer's page stops printing a figure once your audience passes fifty thousand monthly active users, and quotes by contact from there.
The board itself answers more of this than the invoice does.
Which one should you choose?
They are built around different fears, and the honest answer says something real about both.
Beamer's free feedback tier is a genuinely working public board, not a stripped demo. Public ideas, comments, a portal and a roadmap, with unlimited votes, for as long as the changelog plan under it stays free or paid.
Olvy's own pitch, reading and summarising what customers actually wrote, is a real capability neither this product nor Beamer's board attempts. A team drowning in raw feedback text gets something from that layer that a vote count alone does not give them.
The demo board is open and it asks for no account.
Why choose Olvy over Beamer, or Beamer over Olvy?
Because one of them caps how much feedback you may read and the other caps how many people may see what you shipped.
Choose Olvy when the actual job is making sense of a pile of written feedback, since the summarising and the segmentation are built for exactly that, right up until the item cap on the plan you are on runs out.
Choose Beamer when a changelog widget seen by your whole audience is the point, and a feedback board tagging along on a free tier is a fair trade for a meter that grows with your own traffic.
Is there a cheaper alternative to both?
It depends on whether the number you are worried about is your feedback pile or your audience count.
A flat rate stops caring the moment either meter starts hurting: Olvy's item cap on one side, Beamer's audience count on the other. A calculator sizes the crossover against the metered ones.
Every vendor in the category sits on one page with the unit it bills on. Nine dollars a month is what this board costs, flat, whatever either number does.
What does each do with a vote from a big customer?
| Vendor | Weighting by revenue | Single sign on | API |
|---|---|---|---|
| Olvy | – | Enterprise, with SAML | Business |
| Beamer | – | Yes, plan not stated | Feedback Pro |
| VoteFirst | All plans | Pro, no SAML | Pro |
An unpublished cell here means our own browser found nothing about it on either vendor's page that day. It is a gap in the marketing copy, not a fact about what their software can or cannot do.
Eight of the thirty two feedback tools in our own matrix write something about revenue into their own pages, and four of those eight go a step further and weight the vote itself rather than just sorting a list by it.
Olvy's pages sort users into segments on its dearest plan, which is a filter rather than a weight, and Beamer's pages say nothing about revenue, MRR or customer tier at all.
Can I move from one to the other?
Neither vendor's own pages, read on the day, state an export capability for the feedback side one way or the other. Olvy names migration help as an Enterprise line for arriving, and says nothing about leaving.
What usually does not survive a move between any two tools in this category is who cast each vote rather than the total, the comment threads, the original timestamps and the board links people have already bookmarked.
Where we fit, and where we do not
Both Olvy and Beamer sell a real free plan, Olvy at twenty five analysed items and a thousand visitors, Beamer at a thousand monthly active users and one teammate. We have no free plan at all, only a fourteen day trial that asks for a card.
Both also sell single sign on somewhere in their ladder, Olvy naming SAML on its Enterprise tier and Beamer stating SSO without naming the plan it sits on. We sign a voter in with a token from your own application on the thirty nine dollar plan, and we have no SAML at any price.
Neither of them puts a whole number multiplier on a customer's tier and writes that weight onto the vote itself. That is the one thing we do that this pair does not, on every plan including the nine dollar one.
What is Olvy, and what is Beamer?
Olvy is a changelog and release notes tool with a feedback widget and an analysis layer attached, billed by how many pieces of that feedback you are allowed to analyse.
Beamer is an in app announcement widget at its core, pushing release notes to whoever opens your product. A voting board and a survey tool ride along as separate purchases, and the widget's own audience, not either of those two, is what sets the bill.
Does either one have a free plan?
Both do, and they cap different things. Olvy's free plan, read on 15 September 2026, gives one builder, twenty five analysed feedback items and a thousand unique visitors a month. Beamer's, read the same window, gives a thousand monthly active users and one teammate at no cost.
What this costs
Lite
$9 /mo
Pro
$39 /mo
Lifetime
$999 once
Fourteen day trial of Pro, card asked for at signup. Nothing here counts the people who vote, so the bill does not move when the board starts working. The long version, with what happens if you stop paying.
The honest summary
Two meters built for opposite jobs. Olvy's grows with how much feedback text piles up, so a quiet product with a chatty support inbox still runs into the cap. Beamer's grows with how many people open your product, so a busy product with a silent board still costs money.
Olvy for a team whose real problem is making sense of a lot of written feedback. Beamer for a changelog seen by a large audience, with a feedback board riding along for free until it needs to be private. Ours if the vote itself should carry what the voter pays, at nine dollars flat.
The Olvy alternative page and the Beamer one carry each side on its own.
14 days, a card at signup, then $9 or $39 a month.
