Productroad publishes one of the lowest entry prices in this category and it publishes the meter next to it, which is more than most vendors do.
The meter is the tracked user, and their own page defines that as anyone who posts, comments on feedback, or votes for a feature. Everything below was read on Productroad's own pricing page on 16 September 2026.
What does Productroad cost?
Four published plans, and two separate things step between them.
| Plan | Price | Team members | Extra member | Extra tracked users |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lite | $9 | 1 | $5 | $9 per 50 |
| Start | $19 | 5 | $5 | $9 per 50 |
| Standard | $49 | 10 | $5 | $9 per 50 |
| Pro | $99 | 25 | $9 | $49 per 500 |
- Lite is one person and the basic board.
- Start takes the team to five.
- Standard takes it to ten and adds the controls a larger team asks for, including read only boards and user groups.
- Pro takes it to twenty five and changes the tracked user block from fifty to five hundred.
Their free plan runs until fifty people have left feedback. The trial is fourteen days, asks for no card, and their page says it carries no feature restrictions.
If that arithmetic came out badly, a trial here is 14 days with a card at signup and the bill after it is $9 or $39 a month.
What does a working board cost on each plan?
The two meters move independently, so the answer depends on which one your board grows.
| Participants who have voted | Lite | Start | Pro |
|---|---|---|---|
| 50 | $9 | $19 | $99 |
| 250 | $45 | $55 | $99 |
| 500 | $90 | $100 | $99 |
| 1,000 | $180 | $190 | $148 |
| 2,500 | $450 | $460 | $295 |
Pro is the cheapest of the three the moment the board passes about five hundred participants, because the block size changes from fifty to five hundred. Below that it is the most expensive by a wide margin.
That crossover is worth knowing before you pick a plan, because the natural reading of the price list is that Lite is for small teams and Pro is for big ones. The tracked user line makes it about the size of your audience instead.
Who counts as a tracked user?
Anyone who posts, comments on feedback, or votes for a feature, in their own wording.
That is the broadest of the three definitions in common use in this category. Some tools count only people who post. Some count only signed in people. This one counts the vote, which is the single most common action on a feedback board and the one you most want people to take.
Does Productroad have a free plan?
Yes, and it ends at fifty people who have left feedback rather than at a date.
That is a sensible shape for a free plan. It costs nothing while you are finding out whether anybody will post, and it asks for money at roughly the point where the board has proved itself.
It is also the point where the paid meter starts, so the fifty first participant is both the end of the free plan and the first tick of the counter.
What this costs
Lite
$9 /mo
Pro
$39 /mo
Lifetime
$999 once
Fourteen day trial of Pro, card asked for at signup. Nothing here counts the people who vote, so the bill does not move when the board starts working. The long version, with what happens if you stop paying.
Fourteen days of Pro, a card at signup, then nine or thirty nine a month.
What is held back from the cheap plans?
Read only boards, user groups and segments, and access control for selected groups.
Those are the features a team reaches for when the board gets political: when one customer should not see another's request, or when a board needs to be visible but closed to new posts. On Productroad they arrive on the higher tiers, so a two person team that needs one specific control finds itself on a plan sized for ten people.
The changelog, the roadmap and the voting itself are on the cheapest plan, which is the right way round.
What does this cost on VoteFirst?
The same nine dollars at the door, and it stays nine dollars.
There is no tracked user line here and no team member line. One project is nine dollars a month whether four people vote or four thousand, and thirty nine covers unlimited projects, the API, a custom domain and colleagues.
What Productroad has that this does not is a free plan and user groups. What this has is the weight on the vote: each customer tier carries a multiplier, the weight is stamped when the vote is cast, and the plain count stays visible beside it. The mechanism is here and the alternative page compares the rest.
