Canny meters your customers, and Savio meters your own team

Canny and Savio both put a number on a monthly bill, and the two numbers move with completely different people. Canny's meter is any customer who posted, voted or commented on your board. Savio's meter is the colleagues on your own side who are paid seats, and it never moves for a customer at all.

Everything below was read on each vendor's own pages on 15 September 2026.

What does each one charge?

Seventy nine dollars a month for Canny at a hundred tracked users, and thirty nine for Savio's Essential plan with one paid user included.

A tracked user, in Canny's own wording, is any person who left a post, a vote or a comment, including your own staff if they take part. Savio flips that around.

It only charges for the person on your side doing the triaging, and it never counts a customer, however many of them show up to vote or comment.

One paid user is folded into Savio's base price on all three of its plans. A second paid user costs twenty three dollars more on Essential, billed yearly, and the rate per extra person rises rather than falls as you move up the plans.

How much does Canny cost compared to Savio?

It depends on which side of the board is large, your team or your crowd, and here is the arithmetic at three sizes using only the rates each vendor prints.

Your situation Canny Savio
1 paid user, 25 customers have voted Free, at the 25 tracked user line $39/mo billed yearly, Essential covers the one paid user
4 paid users, 1,000 customers have voted $529/mo billed yearly, at the 1,000 tracked user step $108/mo billed yearly, $39 plus three extra users at $23 each
8 paid users, 5,000 customers have voted $1,079/mo billed yearly, at the top of Canny's published ladder $200/mo billed yearly, $39 plus seven extra users at $23 each

A big crowd with a small team favours Savio. A small crowd with a large team favours Canny, because Savio's extra seats keep adding up while Canny's colleagues cost nothing.

Neither vendor prints a rate past the last row on this table. Canny stops publishing a figure above 5,000 tracked users. Savio's Business plan lists $249 with one paid user, and does not say what a tenth or twentieth seat would add on top of that.

A live board says more than a price table ever will, and ours needs no sign up to open.

Which one should you choose?

They are built around two different questions, and the honest answer keeps both in view.

Savio is genuinely the better fit if your feedback already lives in a support inbox or a CRM. It logs requests straight out of Intercom, Help Scout, Zendesk, HubSpot or Salesforce and attaches each one to the account that asked, which a public board never sees at all.

Canny is the more finished public board, with a free tier, an automated layer that reads conversations for feedback nobody typed in, and a price that only grows once the board is actually busy.

Savio's whole model assumes your own customers will not visit a page and vote on it. For a business selling to fifty accounts through account managers, that assumption usually holds, and a public board built for those fifty people would sit mostly empty.

Why choose Canny over Savio, or Savio over Canny?

Because one of them bills for the crowd that shows up and the other bills for the colleagues who go looking for feedback themselves.

Choose Canny when a page your customers can open and post on is the actual product, because your own team costs nothing and only a busy board moves the bill.

Choose Savio when your feedback already arrives through a support tool or a CRM and nobody outside your company needs to see a board, because that is the shape it was built for.

The decision follows from where your feedback already lives, not from either price on its own.

The demo board is open and it asks for no account.

Is there a cheaper alternative to both?

Yes, and which one looks expensive depends on which number is large for you, voters or paid seats.

A flat rate beats Canny's meter as soon as the board gets popular, and it beats Savio's the day a second person needs a login. Type your own numbers into the calculator to see where that line sits for you.

Nine dollars buys the flat plan here, and every vendor in the category is lined up with its own billing unit on one page if you want the wider field rather than just these two.

What does each do with a vote from a big customer?

Read on each vendor's own pages on the date in the row above. A dash means nobody could read it on the pages opened that day, never that the capability is absent.

Canny's help centre calls its version Sort by MRR Impact, tallying the revenue tied to a feature and folding a whole account into one figure regardless of headcount. Savio lets you slice requests by account MRR, by plan, or by whatever else rode in with the record from HubSpot or Salesforce.

Ordering a list by a dollar figure is what both of them do. Multiplying the vote a person actually cast is a different operation, and neither one does that.

Checking our own vendor matrix of thirty two feedback tools turns up eight, Canny and Savio among them, that write some kind of revenue view into their own marketing.

The same board, sorted by the revenue behind each request.

Can I move from one to the other?

Canny writes its export down in documentation rather than leaving it to a support ticket, and we went column by column through what actually comes out of it.

Savio's pricing page promises an export on demand from every plan, but nothing we read said what fields land in that file, so we are leaving that claim out rather than filling the gap with a guess.

What usually does not survive a move between two tools shaped this differently is the thing each one is built around. Canny's public vote counts have no field to land in inside a CRM record, and Savio's account level context has no equivalent on a public board.

Where we fit, and where we do not

We are not a support inbox and we do not connect to a CRM of any kind. There is no Intercom, Help Scout or Salesforce integration here, and nothing pulls revenue in from anywhere but Stripe, Paddle or a CSV.

Both Canny and Savio let a request sit behind a login that only chosen people can see, and we do not. Canny's free tier carries that option through to its top plan. Savio's Essential tier offers the same choice, public or private, on its cheapest plan. Ours is public to everybody or to nobody, with no password and no invite list.

Both also join a request to real revenue pulled in from another system, and ours is a number you set yourself. Canny syncs recurring revenue from a CRM into its own revenue sort. Savio stores account MRR or plan straight from HubSpot or Salesforce against each request. Our multiplier is a whole number on a tier, not a figure synced from either one.

What this product does instead is weight the vote itself the moment it is cast, on the nine dollar plan as well as the thirty nine dollar one, with the plain count still shown beside it.

What is Canny, and what is Savio?

Canny is a feedback board with a roadmap and a changelog, billed by the tracked users associated with the feedback on it, your customers and your own admins alike.

Savio is a feature request tracker built around your support tools rather than a public board, logging requests out of Intercom, Help Scout, Zendesk, HubSpot or Salesforce and billed by the paid seats on your own team.

Does either one have a free plan?

Canny does. Savio does not.

Canny's pricing page read on 15 September 2026 gives twenty five tracked users free, and that line ends once twenty five customers have taken part rather than once a colleague joins.

Savio's pricing page, read the same day, carries no free tier at all, only a fourteen day trial that its own page says needs no card to start.

The honest summary

Canny's bill grows with the crowd and stops printing a number once that crowd is very large. Savio's bill grows with your own team and never notices the crowd at all, because its whole model assumes the crowd is not who gives the feedback.

Whichever one costs more at your own numbers is telling you something true about where your feedback actually comes from, not only about the price.
