Ducalis and airfocus both make you go looking for the price, and neither one puts it where a pricing page usually keeps it. Ducalis's pricing page runs a calculator with no figure in the document it serves. airfocus's pricing page shows two plans and a button that says Request pricing on both.
Every figure here comes from what each vendor's own page actually showed, opened fresh on 15 September 2026.
What does each one charge?
Twenty dollars on a different page than the pricing page, and nothing published on either airfocus plan.
| Vendor | From | Billed per | Free plan | Trial |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| VoteFirst | $7.50/mo | plan | – | 14 days, card |
| Ducalis | $20/mo | changelog subscriber | 500 subs | – |
| airfocus | Not published | quoted | – | – |
Both figures come straight off each vendor's own pricing page, opened 2026-09-15.
Ducalis's own home page carries one sentence, that the suite starts from twenty dollars a month for all features. Its pricing page, at a different address, runs a calculator instead and the page it serves contains no dollar amount at all. airfocus's pricing page carries two plan cards and a Request pricing button under each.
How much does Ducalis cost compared to airfocus?
It depends on how many people read your changelog, and one column of this table never fills in at any size.
| Your situation | Ducalis | airfocus |
|---|---|---|
| 4 people on the team, all admins, 300 people subscribe to the changelog | Free, under the 500 subscriber line | Not published |
| 4 people on the team, one needs the member role, 5,000 subscribers | Paid, from $20/mo, the exact figure is behind the calculator | Not published |
| 15 people on the team, several need the member role, 40,000 subscribers | Paid, from $20/mo, the exact figure is behind the calculator | Not published |
Ducalis publishes exactly two figures at any subscriber count, zero and the sentence "from $20 a month." Above 500 subscribers or with a member role in the mix, the rest of the bill comes from a calculator that runs after the page loads.
airfocus does not publish a rate on either of its two plans, at any size. Both plans route through the same Request pricing button regardless of team size or subscriber count.
The live demo needs no signup if a board is what you actually wanted to see.
Which one should you choose?
They solve different problems and the fair answer credits both with something specific.
Ducalis is the sharper tool for a team that argues about priority order, because the scoring and the alignment report are a real method, not a board with an opinion bolted on. A team split five ways on what matters next gets that split written down rather than voted over.
airfocus is the deeper platform for a product organisation running several teams at once, with portfolio management, capacity planning and OKRs on its Enterprise plan that Ducalis's own plan list does not carry at all.
Why choose Ducalis over airfocus, or airfocus over Ducalis?
One of these settles an argument inside a single team. The other coordinates several teams against one plan.
Choose Ducalis when your backlog needs a scoring method more than it needs a public vote, and when a changelog with a first class release notes module matters to you.
Choose airfocus when a product hierarchy three levels deep, portfolio dashboards and OKRs across teams are things procurement will ask for by name, and a sales call before signing is not a barrier.
Nothing here counts the people who vote, so a busy board costs the same.
Is there a cheaper alternative to both?
Very likely, since one price here is unpublished and the other only prints at the bottom of its range.
Against Ducalis's subscriber meter, a flat price stops moving once your changelog's readership grows past the free line. Against airfocus's missing figure, anything with a printed number is easier to budget against on day one. The calculator runs the subscriber side of that arithmetic at a size you choose.
Every tool in this category sits on one page with the unit it bills on, including this one at a flat nine dollars.
What does each do with a vote from a big customer?
Ducalis scores a backlog against criteria your team sets, and its own pages read on 15 September 2026 describe nothing about weighting a vote by revenue. airfocus sells advanced prioritization and a feedback and insights module, which is scoring work a product team does by hand rather than a customer's plan changing the order.
| Vendor | Weighting by revenue | API | Export | Custom domain |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ducalis | – | – | – | Yes, paid plan |
| airfocus | – | – | – | – |
| VoteFirst | All plans | Pro | CSV | Pro |
Read on each vendor's own pages on 2026-09-15. A dash means nobody could read it on the pages opened that day, never that the capability is absent.
Neither Ducalis nor airfocus has a row in this site's own category matrix, which checks thirty two products against this exact question. Eight of those thirty two write something revenue related into their own pages, and four of the eight, Frill, ProductLift, Sleekplan and UserVoice, weight the vote itself rather than only ordering a list.
Can I move from one to the other?
Neither vendor's own pages state what an export contains or how to request one, so both sides of this claim are cut rather than guessed at.
What usually does not survive a move between any two tools in this category is who cast each vote rather than the running total, the scoring history behind a request, and every board or portal link a customer already has saved.
What actually happens step by step is written up against a named endpoint each time, from the file rather than from either vendor's documentation.
Where we fit, and where we do not
We are not a prioritization suite and we are not a portfolio level product platform. There is no scoring criteria here, no alignment report, no portfolio view, no capacity planning, and no insights agent reading anything on our behalf.
Both Ducalis and airfocus carry a way to close a board that we do not. Ducalis puts private voting boards on its paid plan. airfocus's branded customer or stakeholder portal is closed by default, with a portal password and SSO protection on its Enterprise plan. A board here is public or it does not exist; there is no private board at any price.
Both also reach SAML, which we never carry. Ducalis's own paid plan lists single sign on as a standard feature rather than an extra. airfocus charges for SAML separately on Professional and folds it into Enterprise. Ours signs a visitor in through your own application on the Pro plan, and stops there.
Instead, this product multiplies a vote by the tier the voter sits in, and that multiplier writes itself onto the vote at the moment it is cast, on every plan including the nine dollar one.
What is Ducalis, and what is airfocus?
Ducalis is a prioritization tool that sits between a task tracker and a public voting board. Work arrives from Jira, Linear, Asana, Trello, ClickUp, GitHub or YouTrack, gets scored by your team against agreed criteria, and a release notes module ships beside the board, billed by the people who read those notes.
airfocus, sold by the company Lucid, calls itself a product intelligence platform. Prioritization, roadmaps, a feedback and insights module and a branded portal for customers or stakeholders sit inside it, billed by an editor seat at a rate only a sales call reveals.
Does either one have a free plan?
Ducalis does and airfocus does not. Ducalis's pricing page read on 15 September 2026 gives 500 subscribers to a release notes list for nothing, with the admin role only and no member seats.
airfocus names no free tier on the page it carries, and its own FAQ closes the other route too, stating plainly that it does not offer a free trial and pointing instead to a personalised demo booking.
What this costs

Pro

Fourteen day trial of Pro, card asked for at signup. Nothing here counts the people who vote, so the bill does not move when the board starts working. The long version, with what happens if you stop paying.
The honest summary
One vendor here hides the number behind a calculator on a page that never shows it, and the other hides it behind a sales call that starts before any number exists. Ducalis for a team that wants its backlog scored and a changelog that grows with its readers.
airfocus for a product organisation running several teams that can sit through the call.
Ours if you want the price fixed at nine dollars a month whichever of those two problems you actually have.
The Ducalis alternative page and the airfocus one carry each side on its own.
14 days, a card at signup, then $9 or $39 a month.
