Respondent recruits research participants from its own panel for moderated interviews, unmoderated studies and API driven recruiting, with an AI moderator, screening, scheduling and synthesis included in the same per session rate. There is one rate card, not a set of named plans. Pay as you go charges $40 a session for a consumer audience and $80 for a B2B audience, with no commitment. Five annual commitment tiers, from $7.5K a year to $500K or more, step that rate down on every methodology. Participant incentives are billed separately from the session rate.
Every current figure here was read on respondent.io/pricing on 5 October 2026, from the rate calculator and the pricing FAQ beneath it, and every older one on the Internet Archive's copies of the same page.
What does Respondent cost?
| A session | Pay as you go | $7.5K a year | $20K a year | $50K a year | $500K+ a year |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Moderated, consumer | $40 | $36 | $34 | $32 | $28 |
| Moderated, B2B | $80 | $72 | $68 | $64 | $56 |
| Unmoderated, consumer | $25 | $22.50 | $21.25 | $20 | $17.50 |
| Unmoderated, B2B | $40 | $36 | $34 | $32 | $28 |
| API, consumer | $40 | $18 | $16 | $14 | $12 |
| API, B2B | $80 | $36 | $32 | $28 | $24 |
The calculator labels the tiers by the commitment, not by a plan name: pay as you go carries no discount, and the $7.5K, $20K, $50K and $500K+ tiers save 10%, 15%, 20% and 30% on moderated and unmoderated work. API sessions share the same pay as you go rate as moderated work but save 55%, 60%, 65% and 70% at the same four tiers, and the page notes that API access is set up by talking to its sales team rather than through self serve signup. A session is only charged once it is complete; a participant who drops out, fails the screener or no shows is not billed. The FAQ says every plan includes the AI moderator, screener tooling, recordings, automated synthesis and reporting at no extra charge, and that a consumer audience costs less to recruit than a B2B one because B2B participants are harder to reach.
What does a study of 5, 10 or 25 sessions cost?
These figures are the moderated, consumer rate from the table above multiplied by the session count; Respondent has no separate per project fee.
| Sessions in the study | Pay as you go | $7.5K tier | $20K tier | $50K tier | $500K+ tier |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5 | $200 | $180 | $170 | $160 | $140 |
| 10 | $400 | $360 | $340 | $320 | $280 |
| 25 | $1,000 | $900 | $850 | $800 | $700 |
A B2B study costs twice as much at every tier, since the B2B rate is double the consumer rate throughout. None of this includes what participants are paid to take part.
What do incentives cost?
The pricing page lists no incentive price of its own; incentives are separate from the per session price. A team sets and funds the incentive for each study, and Respondent pays participants out through Tremendous. So a study's total cost is the session rate above plus whatever incentive the team chooses to offer each participant.
Is there a free plan or a trial?
The pricing page lists no free plan and no trial period. Pay as you go has no subscription and no upfront commitment; a team pays only when a session is completed, at the list rate shown above. The page lists no refund terms beyond the rule that an incomplete session is never charged.
How has Respondent's price changed?
| Archive copy | Plans and prices |

| January 2026 | Pay as you go at $40 a session; a Credit Bundle tier at $34, saving 15%, for paying up front for 63 sessions; a Large Volume tier priced by quote; unmoderated sessions carrying a further 38% discount at every tier |
| October 2026, the live page | Pay as you go at $40 moderated consumer / $80 B2B, with $7.5K, $20K, $50K and $500K+ annual commitment tiers stepping the consumer rate to $36, $34, $32 and $28; unmoderated starting at $25 consumer / $40 B2B; API sessions at the same list rate with steeper discounts down to $12 consumer at the $500K+ tier |
The unit priced changed twice: a percentage of the incentive from 2018 through 2023, a credit in January 2024, and a flat rate per completed session from January 2025 on. Pay as you go's moderated consumer rate was $39 a credit in January 2024 and has read $40 a session on every copy from January 2025 to the live page. The discounts below pay as you go came as two named tiers in January 2024 and January 2025, a Credit Bundle and a quoted Large Volume tier in January 2026, and four commitment levels on the live page.

VoteFirst is a feature request board: customers post requests, vote on each other's and follow a public roadmap, at $9 a month for one project or $39 for unlimited projects and colleagues, with no per session charge. Respondent recruits and pays verified research participants from a panel it counts at 4.3 million people across 150 countries, with an AI moderator running the interview, and VoteFirst does none of that; it collects and ranks what customers want built next. User Interviews recruits by the session too, at $49 with no commitment and $98 with B2B targeting, Maze quotes its paid plan after a call, Userlytics sells testing plans with a set number of seats, the user research shortlist sets them side by side, and the pricing hub groups every vendor by what it meters.
