Maze runs unmoderated usability tests on prototypes and live websites, surveys, card sorting, tree testing and moderated or AI moderated interviews. It has two plans now. Free costs nothing for one study a month and five seats. Enterprise is priced after a call, with a custom number of studies and unlimited seats. Participants from Maze's own panel cost extra on Free, as pay per use credits, and are included in Enterprise's custom terms.
Every current figure here was read on maze.co/pricing on 4 October 2026, rendered in a headless browser because the page builds its plan cards by script, and every older one on the Internet Archive's copies of the same page.
What does Maze cost?
| Free | Enterprise | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | $0 | Custom |
| Studies | 1 a month | Custom quantity |
| Seats | 5 | Unlimited |
| Panel participants | Pay per use credits | Credits included, or bring your own users for free |
Free's card lists essential prototype testing and surveys. Enterprise's card adds access to what the page calls a global panel of more than seven million participants, every Maze AI feature, moderated and AI moderated interviews, live website testing, card sorting and tree testing, mobile experience testing, audio, video and screen recording, automated research analysis and presentation ready reports, enterprise grade security controls, priority support, a dedicated customer success manager and research partner access. The page's feature grid also marks AI survey assistance, AI survey analysis, interview transcription with automated theme analysis, an MCP server in beta, and role based access as Enterprise only.
What does a study beyond the free one cost?
| Free | Enterprise | |
|---|---|---|
| Studies included | 1 a month | Set on the call, no number printed |
| Extra studies on the same plan | Not sold on this page | Priced on the call |
| Targeting and screening | Basic | Advanced |
| Interview scheduling | Not listed | Included |
The page prints no price for a second study on any plan. Once a team needs more than Free's one study a month, the only route shown is a sales call, and that call's number does not reach the page.
Is there a free plan or a trial?
Free is a standing plan, not a countdown: the page's own label for it is "Free," and it carries one study a month and five seats for as long as the account exists. Its button text, "Try Maze for free," blurs that against a trial, but nothing on the page gives Free an end date or asks for a card. The page prints no refund terms and no discount for students, educators or nonprofits.
How has Maze's price changed?
| Archive copy | Plans and prices a month |
|---|---|
| February 2021 | Free at $0 for one seat; Starter at $42 for one seat; Team at $25 a seat for three or more seats billed annually; Enterprise custom |
| August 2021 | Free at $0 with unlimited seats; Professional at $25 a seat billed annually, starting from one seat; Organization custom from 10 seats |
| January 2022 | Free at $0 for one active project; Professional at $50 billed annually for two seats, plus $25 for each extra seat; Organization custom from 10 seats |
| August 2022 to July 2023 | Professional at $75 billed annually, three seats included and up to five sold by the summer of 2023; Free still $0; Organization custom |
| February and October 2024 | Professional renamed Starter, and its price removed from the page; its card reads "Get started" next to no figure, while Free still shows $0 and Organization still reads "Contact Sales" |
| March 2025 | Starter priced again, at $99 a month or $1,188 a year, for one study a month and five seats, the same study and seat count as Free; Organization still custom with unlimited seats |
The headline moved from a named seat price, $42 then $25 a seat, to a flat $75 a month for Professional by 2022, and that $75 held through mid 2023. The plan between Free and Organization then lost its price for most of 2024, before coming back as Starter at $99 a month in March 2025, still capped at the same one study a month as Free. The Internet Archive's copies of 9 September 2025, 20 April 2026 and 16 September 2026 render only the page's shell and its feature comparison grid, with no plan names or prices in any of the three, so when Starter left the page again cannot be pinned between March 2025 and the live read of 4 October 2026, where only Free and Enterprise remain.
Does Maze run a feature voting board?
Maze's pricing page links no board where customers post requests and vote on each other's, and no public roadmap, and a check of maze.co/roadmap and a Canny subdomain under its name both return nothing. Its card sorting, tree testing and interviews ask research questions of participants rather than collecting requests from customers.
What this costs
Lite
$9 /mo
Pro
$39 /mo
Lifetime
$999 once
Fourteen day trial of Pro, card asked for at signup. Nothing here counts the people who vote, so the bill does not move when the board starts working. The long version, with what happens if you stop paying.
VoteFirst is a feature request board: customers post requests, vote on each other's and follow a public roadmap, at $9 a month for one project or $39 for unlimited projects and colleagues, with no count of studies. Maze can recruit real test participants from its own panel; VoteFirst has no panel and runs no usability tests. Dovetail prices research analysis on its own page, Sprig and Hotjar price in product surveys and session data, the user research shortlist compares research tools by the seat and the study, and the pricing hub groups every vendor by what it meters.
How were these prices read?
The current plans come from maze.co/pricing, read on 4 October 2026 with a headless browser after its scripts ran, since the page carries no plan data in the HTML it serves before that. The history from 2021 to 2023 comes from the same HTML the Internet Archive stored for its copies of 27 February and 13 August 2021, 27 January 2022, 10 August 2022, and 8 February and 31 July 2023, where the prices sit in the markup already. From 21 February 2024 the archive stores only a script shell, so those copies, and the ones from 15 October 2024 and 16 March 2025, were read with a headless browser running the Wayback replay's own scripts. The replays of 9 September 2025, 20 April 2026 and 16 September 2026 were read the same way but render no plan cards, so no figure from them appears on this page. Prices are in US dollars.
