Hotjar's pricing page now sends you to Contentsquare's, which opens with "Looking for Hotjar pricing? You're in the right place." Hotjar's heatmaps and recordings are sold there as Experience Analytics, and its surveys and feedback widgets as Voice of Customer. Each has a free plan and a Growth plan with a price on the page. Experience Analytics Growth starts at $49 a month, or $39 billed yearly, and Voice of Customer Growth at $99 a month, or $79 billed yearly. Everything above Growth is priced by a sales call.
Every current figure here was read on contentsquare.com/pricing on 4 October 2026, including the price tables in the page's own code, and every older one on the Internet Archive's copies of hotjar.com/pricing. The page prints the same figures in euros for customers in Europe and in US dollars everywhere else.
What does Hotjar cost now?
| Product | Free | Growth, billed monthly | Growth, billed yearly | Pro and Enterprise |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Experience Analytics: heatmaps, replays, funnels | Up to 200,000 monthly sessions, 1 project, 1 month of data | From $49 a month for 7,000 sessions | From $39 a month | By a sales call |
| Voice of Customer: surveys and feedback widgets | 100 monthly responses, 3 surveys or widgets, 1 month of responses | From $99 a month for 500 responses | From $79 a month | By a sales call |
| Product Analytics | By a sales call | By a sales call | By a sales call | By a sales call |
Paying yearly takes 20 percent off before VAT, but only when you pay in the app by card or PayPal; paying by invoice gets no discount. Taking paid Growth plans on both Experience Analytics and Voice of Customer takes another 10 percent off the cheaper of the two, so both entry plans together come to $148 a month billed monthly, or $114 a month billed yearly.
A price covers the whole account within one region, however many sites it tracks. In 2020 the same page said each plan was charged per site.
What do Hotjar's surveys and feedback widgets cost?
Voice of Customer Growth is priced by the number of responses a month, shared across every project and site in the account. Growth also unlocks unlimited surveys and widgets, responses kept with no time limit instead of for a month, AI survey writing and summaries, branding, embedded surveys and the link to replays.
| Responses a month | October 2025, billed monthly | Today, billed monthly | Today, billed yearly |
|---|---|---|---|
| 500 | $79 | $99 | $79 |
| 1,000 | $99 | $129 | $103 |
| 2,500 | $179 | $249 | $199 |
| 5,000 | $289 | $349 | $279 |
| 10,000 | $479 | $529 | $423 |
| 25,000 | $629 | $689 | $551 |
| 50,000 | $879 | $949 | $759 |
| 100,000 | $1,379 | $1,479 | $1,183 |
The yearly column is worked out at the page's 20 percent and rounded to the dollar, as the page rounds its own entry price. The October 2025 column is Ask Business, the plan Voice of Customer replaced, read from the price table in that copy's code.
Every step of the ladder went up between 9 October and 8 November 2025, from 7 percent at 100,000 responses to 39 percent at 2,500. In the same change the $59 Plus plan for 250 responses left the page, and the free allowance rose from the 20 responses a month the page listed in 2023 to 100. A team past 100 responses now goes straight to $99.
When the month's responses run out, surveys and widgets stop being shown until the allowance resets.
What do heatmaps and recordings cost?
| Monthly sessions | Replays | Growth, billed monthly |
|---|---|---|
| 7,000 | 7,000 | $49 |
| 10,000 | 10,000 | $69 |
| 15,000 | 15,000 | $99 |
| 20,000 | 20,000 | $119 |
| 45,000 | 20,000 | $219 |
| 100,000 | 20,000 | $409 |
| 200,000 | 30,000 | $739 |
| More than 200,000 | More than 30,000 | By a sales call |
Replays stop growing at 20,000 from the 25,000 session step to 120,000, while the price keeps climbing. The free plan counts up to 200,000 sessions and 10,000 replays according to the page's own price table, but keeps one month of data against Growth's thirteen. When a free or Growth account reaches its session limit, heatmaps and funnels collect nothing new until the next month.
Is there a free plan, a trial or a refund?
Yes to all three. The free plans above have no time limit, and a cancelled Growth plan drops back to them rather than closing the account. Every new account starts with a 15 day trial of the Growth plans with no payment details asked for and no charge at the end; after it you pick a plan or stay free. New Growth accounts get a 30 day money back guarantee, and after that a cancellation runs to the end of the month or year already paid. Growth needs no yearly contract.
The 15 day trial and the 30 day money back guarantee were both on Hotjar's page in December 2016.

The unit Hotjar charges for has changed three times: pageviews a day until mid 2020, sessions a day from late 2020, separate meters for recordings and survey responses from 2022, and monthly rather than daily sessions today. Surveys and feedback widgets were included in every paid plan in 2020 and 2021; since 2022 they have had a price of their own.
Does Hotjar run a feature voting board?
Hotjar's feedback widgets ask visitors to react to a page, and its surveys ask them your questions. The pricing page lists no board where customers post requests and vote on each other's.

Pro

Fourteen day trial of Pro, card asked for at signup. Nothing here counts the people who vote, so the bill does not move when the board starts working. The long version, with what happens if you stop paying.
VoteFirst is a feature request board: customers post requests, vote on each other's and follow a public roadmap, at $9 a month for one project or $39 for unlimited projects and colleagues, with no meter on responses or sessions. It runs no surveys, heatmaps or recordings. Survicate and Qualaroo price surveys on their own pages, the in app feedback tools are compared on one page, the session replay shortlist compares seven replay tools by the session, and the pricing hub groups every vendor by what it meters.
How were these prices read?
The current plans come from contentsquare.com/pricing, read on 4 October 2026 in a browser and as served: the plan cards, the comparison tables, the answers under the questions, and the price tables in the page's code that drive its sliders. The history comes from the Internet Archive's copies of hotjar.com/pricing taken on 8 December 2016, 1 December 2018, 5 June 2020, 5 December 2020, 3 June 2021, 14 December 2021, 2 December 2022, 6 December 2023, 3 December 2024, 5 May 2025, 9 October 2025, 8 and 23 November 2025, 10 December 2025 and 23 January 2026, and from the archive's record of the address redirecting from 15 March 2026. Prices are in US dollars before tax.
