Dovetail's pricing page shows two plans. Free costs $0 and asks for no card. Enterprise says "Custom pricing available" and sends you to sales. Between them, until early 2026, sat Professional, a plan anyone could buy by the user: $29 a user a month billed yearly in 2024, cut to $15 in August 2025, and gone from the page by February 2026.
Every current detail here was read on dovetail.com/pricing on 4 October 2026, and every older price on the Internet Archive's copies of the same page.
What does Dovetail cost now?
| Plan | Price | What it includes |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0, no card required | One channel, one project, and chat with AI summaries inside that project |
| Enterprise | Custom pricing, through sales | Unlimited channels, projects, docs and agents, dashboards, unlimited chat queries from Slack or Teams, folders, global tags, fields and templates, semantic search, redaction, access control and priority support |
A channel is where Dovetail collects one stream of feedback, sorted by team, product or source. Free holds one of each, so a second project or a second stream of feedback means Enterprise, and Enterprise means a conversation with sales. The page prints no step in between.
When a paid plan is cancelled, the page says access runs to the end of the period already paid, with no refund for the rest of it. The workspace then turns read only for 30 days so the data can be exported, and after that it is deleted.
What did Dovetail cost when it printed a price?
| Archive copy | Paid plan on the page | Price |

| March 2023 | Team, 5 users | $375 a month, or $4,200 a year |

| September 2023 | Business, 10 contributors | From $1,200 a month paid yearly, $14,400, and $60 a month for each extra contributor |

| August 2025 to January 2026 | Professional | $15 a user a month billed yearly |

In 2023 a contributor was someone who could upload, analyse and create insights, and viewers, who could only read and comment, were unlimited on every paid plan. From 2024 the price was per user, and a 7 day trial came with Professional.
The August 2025 copy prints $15 billed yearly and says paying yearly saves 25 percent; it prints no monthly figure in the page's own text.
How has Dovetail's price changed?
Five changes in three years, and the last two moved it from a price you could read to none.
September 2023. Five fixed bundles became three bundles with a price for each extra contributor. Starter rose from Pro's $18 a month for one user to $30 for three.
March 2024. The bundles collapsed into one plan priced by the user, $29 a month billed yearly or $39 monthly, beside a free plan and Enterprise.
November 2024. Two paid additions appeared beside the plans: recruiting research participants from Dovetail's pool, from $75, and extra data capacity at $500 a month for 1,000 data points.
Between June and August 2025. Professional fell from $29 to $15 a user a month billed yearly.
Between January and February 2026. Professional left the page. The copy of 1 January 2026 still shows $15; the copy of 19 February 2026 shows Free and Enterprise only, and so does today's page.
Is Dovetail a feedback board?
Dovetail analyses what customers say in calls, documents, surveys and other feedback, and its channels sort incoming feedback by team, product or source. Its pricing page lists no public board where customers post requests and vote on each other's.
What this costs
Lite
$9 /mo
Pro
$39 /mo
Lifetime
$999 once
Fourteen day trial of Pro, card asked for at signup. Nothing here counts the people who vote, so the bill does not move when the board starts working. The long version, with what happens if you stop paying.
VoteFirst is a feature request board: customers post requests, vote on each other's and follow a public roadmap, at $9 a month for one project or $39 for unlimited projects and colleagues, with a price on the page for both. It does no call analysis or AI summaries. Sprig made the same move from a printed price to quote only, the user research shortlist compares research tools by the seat and the study, and the pricing hub groups every vendor by what it meters.
