Supahub markets itself as the cheap way off Canny, and a cheap way off Canny is not the same claim as a cheaper bill in every shape of company. Everything below was read on each vendor's own pricing page on 14 and 15 September 2026.
What does each one charge?
Zero dollars, fifteen, and nine, and the two rival figures come from opposite meters.
| Vendor | From | Billed per | Free plan | Trial |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| VoteFirst | $7.50/mo | plan | – | 14 days, card |
| Supahub | $15/mo | workspace | 1 board | – |
| Canny | $79/mo | tracked user | 25 users | – |

Supahub's meter is the workspace itself, counted in boards and in the admins who work them, with end users unlimited on every tier including the free one.
Canny's meter is the opposite shape. Every admin who touches the board is free, and every customer with a post, a vote or a comment attributed to them is a tracked user, which is the line the bill runs on.
How much does Supahub cost compared to Canny?
The shape that decides the winner is admins and boards against voters, not the sticker price.
| Your situation | Supahub | Canny |
|---|---|---|
| 1 admin, 1 board, 20 customers vote | Free | Free, under the 25 tracked user line |
| 3 admins, 4 boards, 90 customers vote | $40/mo billed yearly on Growth ($49 monthly) | $79/mo billed yearly, at the 100 tracked user tier |
| 6 admins, 12 boards, 5,000 customers vote | $125/mo billed yearly on Premium ($149 monthly) | $1,079/mo billed yearly, at the 5,000 tracked user tier |
That third row is the one to sit with. A workspace that has grown to a dozen boards and five thousand voters costs Supahub the same flat top rate it would charge a much smaller one.
Canny's bill climbed to more than eight times Supahub's because its meter runs on people, and this workspace has a lot of them.
Tested against these three shapes, the cheap replacement claim holds. Supahub comes in under Canny at every one above the free row, and the gap widens the more voters a board attracts.
The one shape it does not model is a team big on admins and light on votes. Supahub's own table stops naming a price past ten admins, while Canny never counts a colleague at all.
Which one should you choose?
They are built for different shaped teams and the honest answer names both.
Supahub is the better answer for a small team with more than one product to run. Its ladder is the same eleven rows on every card with the wall moving right, so a buyer can see in one glance what the next tier buys, and admins are included from the free plan up.
Canny is the better answer for a single board where the team stays small and the voter count might get large. Every admin is free forever, and the free tier itself holds twenty five tracked users at no cost, which is real for a board that will stay small.
One project is nine dollars a month. Unlimited projects is thirty nine.
Why choose Supahub over Canny, or Canny over Supahub?
Because one prices your team and the other prices your audience.
Choose Supahub when you run more than one product and expect to add admins, because boards and admins both climb the same predictable ladder and a busy board never raises the bill on its own.
Choose Canny when one board is the whole job, your team stays at one or two people, and you are unsure how many customers will eventually vote, because Canny never charges for the team at all.
Is there a cheaper alternative to both?
It depends on which of the two meters you expect to grow.
Against Supahub's board and admin count, anything with a flat single price is cheaper the moment a third admin joins. Against Canny's tracked user meter, anything flat is cheaper the moment the board starts working.
The whole field with the unit each vendor bills on is one page, and what each meter costs at a voter count you choose is worked out here. Ours is nine dollars a month flat, for comparison, whichever meter would have hurt you.
What does each do with a vote from a big customer?
Canny orders a list by the revenue behind it. Supahub filters a list by plan or company size. Neither one changes the weight of a single vote.
| Vendor | Weighting by revenue | Team members | Free plan |
|---|---|---|---|
| Supahub | – | 1 admin free, 2 on Starter | 1 board, 1 admin |
| Canny | Orders by revenue | Unmetered on every plan | 25 tracked users |
| VoteFirst | All plans | None on Lite, unlimited on Pro | None |

A dash means nobody could read it on the pages opened that day, never that the capability is absent.
Segmenting a board by company size shows a subset of it. Weighting changes the order of the board itself, and that difference is the whole of what this row is measuring.
Can I move from one to the other?
Neither vendor's own pages state what their export contains, so the honest answer is that neither export was readable on the day this page was checked.
What usually does not survive a move between any two tools in this category is who cast each vote rather than the total, the threading on comments, and the original timestamps. What a Canny export actually contains once you open the file is written up separately.
Where we fit, and where we do not
Both of the products above give you a free plan, and we do not have one at any size. If your budget for this is zero today, that is the row that decides it before anything else does.
Both of them also let a second person help run the board well under our thirty nine dollar line. Supahub's fifteen dollar Starter plan already carries two admins, and Canny never charges for a colleague at all, while a second seat here does not arrive until Pro.
What we do instead is put a multiplier on a tier and write that weight onto the vote itself when it is cast, on the nine dollar plan as well as the thirty nine.
Neither product above does that on the pages we read, though we are not claiming it is unique to us across the whole category.
What is Supahub, and what is Canny?
Supahub is a feedback board with a roadmap and a changelog, billed by the boards you run and the admins who run them, with end users never counted.
Canny is a feedback board with a roadmap and a changelog too, billed by the customers who take part rather than by your team.
Does either one have a free plan?
Yes, both, and they cap different things. Supahub's free plan, read on 14 September 2026, holds one board and one admin with unlimited end users. Canny's, read the same day, holds twenty five tracked users regardless of how many boards or admins you run.
What this costs
Lite
$9 /mo
Pro
$39 /mo
Lifetime
$999 once
Fourteen day trial of Pro, card asked for at signup. Nothing here counts the people who vote, so the bill does not move when the board starts working. The long version, with what happens if you stop paying.
The honest summary
Supahub's own pitch as the cheap way off Canny checks out against the arithmetic on both published lists, once a board has more than one admin or more than a handful of voters.
Canny stays free longest for a lone admin running one quiet board. Ours is nine dollars flat either way, without a free plan and without a cap that moves when either meter grows.
The Canny alternative page and the Supahub pricing page carry each side on its own.
14 days, a card at signup, then $9 or $39 a month.
