Smartlook pricing, by the session

Smartlook records sessions, draws heatmaps, and tracks events, funnels and crashes on websites and mobile apps, and it priced every plan by the sessions it recorded in a month. It belongs to Cisco now, and it is closing. No new subscription has been sold since 31 May 2026, no renewal since 31 August 2026, and the platform shuts down on 30 September 2027, with its session replay, heatmaps and funnels carried into Digital Experience Analytics in the Splunk Observability Cloud.

The last price list it published, in the Internet Archive's copy of 24 February 2026, had three plans: Free for 3,000 sessions a month, Pro from $55 a month for 5,000 sessions, and Enterprise from 50,000 sessions, priced after a call.

Every current fact here was read on smartlook.com/pricing on 4 October 2026, and every older one on the Internet Archive's copies of the same page and of the pricing widget it loaded.

What does Smartlook cost?

Nothing can be bought. The live pricing page shows no plan and no price, only a wind down notice and a set of answers about its schedule.

Date What happens
31 May 2026 End of sale: no new Smartlook subscription is sold
31 August 2026 End of renewals: no renewal or expansion is sold
31 August 2027 Every remaining paid subscription ends
30 September 2027 The platform is switched off and all remaining customer data deleted

A paid subscription runs to the end of its current term. After that, the account drops to the Free plan, with its limits, until 30 September 2027. Nothing moves across on its own: existing subscriptions do not transfer to the Splunk product, and the page says Splunk will not migrate any historical Smartlook data, so it advises exporting data through the Smartlook APIs before a paid plan lapses.

What did the last plans include?

Free Pro Enterprise
Price a month $0 From $55 By a call
Sessions a month 3,000 From 5,000 From 50,000
Events 10 20 40
Funnels 2 5 10
Heatmaps 10 30 50
Data history 30 days 90 days 90 days

That February 2026 copy started every plan with a 30 day trial. Pro added daily anomaly reports, CSV exports and every premium integration, and Enterprise added single sign on, a REST API for exporting data and dedicated customer success. Add ons on Pro and Enterprise raised those limits, with unlimited heatmaps, unlimited events and funnels with 12 months of data, and DevTools for browser errors, at no printed price.

Was there a free plan or a trial?

Free was a plan with no time limit, and it is still what an account falls back to until the platform closes. The trial changed over the years. Copies from 2019 to 2022 offered a 10 day trial with the features of Power, and later of Business, capped at 5,000 visits, with no credit card needed and a 15 day money back guarantee on paid plans. The February 2026 copy offered 30 days and printed no refund terms.

How has Smartlook's price changed?

Archive copy Plans and prices a month
April 2017 Priced by visitors: Free for 20,000; Starter at $20, or $16 billed yearly, for 40,000; Standard at $30, or $24, for 60,000; Power at $75, or $60, from 150,000; unlimited heatmaps and users on every plan
December 2019 Free, Starter and Power, with a custom package above them
October 2021 Renamed Free, Startup, Business and Ultimate, now by sessions: Free for 1,500, Startup from 5,000 up to 25,000, Business from 15,000 up to 200,000
March 2022 Startup at $39 for 5,000 sessions; Business at $95 for 15,000; two months free when paid yearly
August 2022 Startup at $39; Business at $111 for the same 15,000 sessions
September 2023 A notice that Smartlook had joined Cisco
February 2026 Renamed Free, Pro and Enterprise: Free for 3,000 sessions; Pro from $55 for 5,000; Enterprise from 50,000
October 2026 No plans on sale

The cheapest paid plan always started at 5,000 sessions a month once sessions became the meter, and its price went from $39 in 2022 to $55 in 2026. The free plan moved the other way, from 1,500 sessions in 2021 to 3,000 in 2026.

Does Smartlook run a feature voting board?

No. Its live pricing page links a help center, developer documentation, a privacy policy and a status page. Smartlook's 2019 roadmap page listed what its own team had planned and shipped, with no way for customers to post or vote, and the community site its 2022 and 2023 pricing pages linked no longer loads.

VoteFirst is a feature request board: customers post requests, vote and follow a public roadmap, at $9 a month for one project or $39 for unlimited projects and colleagues, with no session count on either plan. It records no sessions and draws no heatmaps, so it replaces none of what Smartlook did. For that, Hotjar, Mouseflow, Lucky Orange and Crazy Egg price session recording and heatmaps on their own pages, and the pricing hub groups every vendor by what it meters.

How were these prices read?

The wind down schedule comes from smartlook.com/pricing, read on 4 October 2026 as served. The history comes from the Internet Archive's copies of smartlook.com/pricing taken on 28 April 2017, 14 December 2019, 16 October 2021, 24 March and 18 August 2022, and 7 September 2023, and from its one copy of the pricing widget at pricing-page.smartlook.com, taken on 24 February 2026 and rendered in a browser. The copies from 2019 to 2021 filled their prices in with a script the archive did not keep, so those rows carry plans and limits but no prices, and copies from 2023 to 2025 showed the page without its pricing widget. Prices are in US dollars.

14 days, a card at signup, then $9 or $39 a month.
