Product tour software pricing, by the active user

Eight tools that put tours, checklists and tooltips inside a web app, each read on its own pricing page by 4 October 2026. Five print a price, two quote every plan, and one has stopped selling. The five that print a price all charge by the users of your product rather than by your team, so the bill grows with your product's success, and the useful comparison is what each costs at 5,000 and at 10,000 monthly active users.

Every figure below links to a page that sets out where it was read, the plan details and the price history behind it.

What does the entry plan cost?

Tool Entry plan Billed monthly Billed yearly, a month Users included Seats
Product Fruits Starter $149 $111 1,500 3
UserGuiding Starter $249 $174 2,000 3
Chameleon Startup From $279 Not listed 2,000 Not listed
Userpilot Starter $299 No yearly saving shown 2,000 3
Userflow Adoption Studio $500 $400 1,000 Unlimited

Each counts users a little differently. Product Fruits, UserGuiding, Userpilot and Userflow count monthly active users, the people who use your product in a month. Chameleon counts monthly tracked users, the people your app has sent to Chameleon in the past 30 days.

What do 5,000 monthly active users cost?

Tool Plan Billed monthly Billed yearly, a month
UserGuiding Starter $299 $209
Product Fruits Starter $299 $224
Userflow Adoption Studio $620 $496
Chameleon Pro $750 Growth, $1,750
Userpilot Growth, as Starter stops at 2,000 From $849 Not listed

UserGuiding and Product Fruits cost the same billed monthly and close to it billed yearly, at well under half of anything else here. Userpilot's jump is the steepest: Starter holds 2,000 users, and the next step is Growth from $849 a month, booked through a demo rather than a trial.

What do 10,000 monthly active users cost?

Tool Plan Billed monthly Billed yearly, a month
Product Fruits Starter $399 $299
Userflow Adoption Studio $770 $616
Userpilot Growth From $849 Not listed
Chameleon Pro $1,250 Growth, $1,920
UserGuiding Quoted from 10,000 Quoted Quoted

Product Fruits is the cheapest here at 10,000, and its table runs on to 20,000 users. UserGuiding prices in steps up to 9,900 users and quotes everything from 10,000, so a product that crosses that line moves from $349 a month on Starter, billed monthly, to a sales call. Userflow charges for each thousand past its first, at $30 a month a thousand up to 10,000 and less beyond, which makes it dearer than its old plans for small products and cheaper for large ones.

How many seats come with each?

Userflow includes unlimited seats. Product Fruits includes 3 on Starter, 10 on Pro and 40 on Business. UserGuiding includes 3 on Starter, 10 on Growth and unlimited on Enterprise. Userpilot includes 3 on Starter and 15 on Growth. Chameleon includes 10 on Pro and 15 on Growth, with unlimited viewers, and sells five more seats for $300 a month on Pro or $3,000 a year on Growth.

Is there a free plan or a trial?

None of the five has a free plan for in app guides. All five run a free trial with no card, 14 days on four of them; Product Fruits' page gives no length, though its archived copies say 14 days. Chameleon's gives Enterprise level access, Product Fruits' covers Starter and Pro, and UserGuiding extends its trial on request and adds a 30 day money back guarantee.

Which ones print no price?

Appcues quotes every plan. Until March 2026 its page carried a slider pricing Start from $300 and Grow from $750 a month at 1,000 users, paid annually, up to $900 and $1,200 at 10,000. Pendo printed a real price only once, from $7,000 a year in September 2023, and had pulled it again by December; every paid plan now reads custom pricing.

Which one has stopped selling?

Usetiful, which Fullstory announced it had acquired on 3 November 2025. Its pricing address now leads to that announcement. Its last published list was free for 2,000 assists a month and €69 a month billed yearly for 10,000, an assist being one tour started or one tip opened.

Where does a feature request board fit?

A product tour tells new users what is already built. A feature request board tells you what they want built next, and how many of them want it. UserGuiding sells both, with feature requests and a public roadmap on its Growth plan, from $349 a month billed yearly, and Product Fruits includes a feedback widget on every plan for bug reports and comments.

VoteFirst is a feature request board: customers post requests, vote and follow a public roadmap, at $9 a month for one project or $39 for unlimited projects and colleagues, with no count of active users or voters. It runs no tours. The in app feedback tools shortlist compares the widgets that collect feedback inside a product, and the pricing hub holds every vendor read so far.

How was this put together?

Each tool's figures come from its own pricing page as read for the linked page on 4 October 2026. The older Appcues, Pendo and Usetiful prices come from the Internet Archive's copies of their pricing pages, as each linked page sets out. Prices are in US dollars except Usetiful's, which its page printed in euros.

14 days, a card at signup, then $9 or $39 a month.
