Thirteen products that send customer satisfaction, effort or NPS surveys, each read on its own pricing page, or on the newest archived copy where the live page refused, by 4 October 2026. Most of them charge by the response, so the useful number is what one answered survey costs at the entry plan, and what happens when the month brings more answers than the plan holds.
Every figure below links to a page that shows where it was read, with the price history behind it.
What does one response cost on each entry plan?
Nine tools, roughly from the cheapest response to the dearest, billed monthly where the vendor allows it.
| Tool | Entry plan | Billed monthly | Billed yearly, a month | Responses included | One response, billed monthly |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Qualaroo | Essentials | $39.99 | $19.99 | Unlimited, with 1,000 email sends a month | No count to divide by |
| SurveyMonkey | Standard Monthly | $129 | Advantage at $39 | 1,000 a month, or 15,000 a year on Advantage | $0.13 |
| SatisMeter | Growth | $199 | 10% off by arrangement | 1,000 a month | $0.20 |
| SurveySparrow | Basic | $39 a month, billed quarterly | $19 | 600 a quarter, or 2,500 a year billed yearly | $0.20 |
| Simplesat | Starter | $149 | $119 | 300 a month | $0.50 |
| Customer Thermometer | Runner | $29 | By invoice on request | 50 a month | $0.58 |
| Nicereply | Starter | $79 | $59 | 100 a month | $0.79 |
| Survicate | Starter, or Growth billed yearly | $89 | $56 on Growth | 100 a month | $0.89 |
| Retently | Ecommerce Basic | $99 | $89 | 2,500 surveys sent a month, not answered | Counts sends instead |
The spread is wide because the plans are built for different buyers. SurveyMonkey and SurveySparrow are general survey builders whose entry plans hold thousands of responses. Nicereply and Simplesat are built for support teams, sit inside the help desk, and charge more for each answer while including help desk features on every plan. SatisMeter and Customer Thermometer price only by the response and include unlimited users on every plan, with SatisMeter's single paid plan at 1,000 and Customer Thermometer's ladder running from 50 a month to 20,000. Qualaroo does not count responses on its paid plans at all, but its survey on a website or inside a product, the Nudge, starts on Business at $49.99 a month billed yearly.
Yearly billing moves the order. SurveyMonkey's Advantage works out to about 3 cents a response, and SurveySparrow's Basic to about 9 cents.
What happens when more people answer than the plan holds?
This decides the bill in a good month more than the headline price does, and every vendor does it differently.
| Tool | Past the limit |
|---|---|
| SurveyMonkey | Keeps collecting, at $0.15 for every response over |
| Survicate | Starter keeps collecting at $0.39 to $0.89 a response if overage is switched on; Growth and the higher plans stop collecting until an upgrade or a purchase of more responses |
| Nicereply | Moves the account up to the next plan automatically |
| Simplesat | Withholds new responses until the next cycle or an upgrade |
| SurveySparrow | Sells more responses on request, with no printed price |
| SatisMeter | Pauses sending surveys until the next billing period, with no extra charge |
| Customer Thermometer | Stops recording responses, and shows people who click a survey closed sign, unless automatic upgrade is switched on; unused responses roll over, up to double the plan |
The two support tools sit at opposite ends. Nicereply never loses an answer but can raise the bill on its own, from $79 to $149 a month billed monthly. Simplesat never raises the bill on its own but stops showing answers until the cycle turns.
Which ones charge for something other than responses?
Three, and each needs its own arithmetic.
Retently counts surveys sent, so a low response rate does not lower the bill: Ecommerce Basic is $99 a month for 2,500 sends, and B2B Basic $100 for 3,000. Refiner counts the monthly active users of the product the survey runs in, with Essentials at $149 a month for 5,000, up from $99 in August 2026. Mopinion prices by channels and traffic, from €279 a month billed yearly.
Which ones have stopped publishing a price?
Two. Zonka Feedback prices every plan by quote on its live page, and its 2025 archive copy lists $49 a month. Delighted has no plan for sale, and its address forwards to Qualtrics, which prints no price on any product; the Delighted page records what its NPS plans cost in archive copies up to June 2026.
Which ones can be used for free?
Five publish a free plan, each with its own cap.
| Tool | Free plan |
|---|---|
| SurveyMonkey | Basic, one user, 10 questions a survey, and only a limited number of responses shown for each survey |
| Qualaroo | 50 responses in total, 500 email sends and 10,000 pageviews |
| Survicate | 25 responses a month |
| SatisMeter | 25 responses a month, with every feature and no card |
| SurveySparrow | A free plan whose own page gives two different response limits, 75 a quarter and 50 a month |
Nicereply, Simplesat and Retently have no free plan. Customer Thermometer gives a new account 10 free responses, then backs every paid plan with a 30 day money back guarantee. Nicereply and Simplesat each run a 14 day trial with no card, and Retently runs 14 days on its ecommerce plans and 7 on its B2B ones.
Where does a feature request board fit?
Beside these, not instead of them. A CSAT or NPS survey tells you how a ticket or a quarter went, as a score. It does not tell you which product change customers want next, how many of them want it, or whether they were told when it shipped.
VoteFirst is a feature request board: customers post requests, vote, and follow a public roadmap, at $9 a month for one project or $39 for unlimited projects and colleagues, with no count of responses or voters. It sends no surveys and calculates no score. The survey software shortlist compares the general survey builders by the year, the user feedback tools shortlist sorts both kinds by the unit on the invoice, and the pricing hub holds every vendor read so far.
How was this put together?
Each tool's figures come from its own pricing page as read on 4 October 2026, except Customer Thermometer's, whose live page answered with a bot check and whose figures come from the Internet Archive's copy of 8 April 2025, and each row links to the page that sets out the reading, the plan details and the history. The cost of one response is the monthly price divided by the responses the plan includes, rounded to the cent. Prices are in US dollars except Mopinion's, which its page prints in euros.
14 days, a card at signup, then $9 or $39 a month.
