Most tools people compare against a feedback board were built as feedback boards. Productlane was not. It opens with a shared email inbox, live chat, a Slack inbox and an AI agent that closes tickets, and the feature request portal is one of the public pages hanging off it.
That shape decides the price. Twenty nine dollars per user a month to start, and a second meter counting how many tickets the AI resolves. Everything below was read on their own pricing page on 16 September 2026.

What does Productlane cost?
Three published plans and a fourth that is quoted.
| Plan | Per user, monthly | AI resolutions included | Extra resolutions |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $29 | 25 | $0.79 each |
| Pro | $59 | 50 | $0.79 each |
| Scale | $99 | 100 | $0.79 each |
| Enterprise | Contact sales | Custom volume | Volume pricing |
There is a startup discount on their page, which they describe as eighty nine percent off: six seats on the Scale plan at sixty five dollars a month for the first year, for companies that have raised under ten million dollars and have fewer than fifteen people, reviewed in one to two days.
The custom domain and the feature request portal are on Starter. The private portal, multiple portals, multi language and single sign on are on Scale.
Where does the invoice actually land?
Two numbers move it, and they move independently.
| Your setup | Productlane Starter | This product, Lite |
|---|---|---|
| 1 person, AI within allowance | $29/mo | $9/mo |
| 3 people, AI within allowance | $87/mo | $9/mo |
| 3 people, 200 AI resolutions | $87 plus 175 extra at $0.79, being $225.25/mo | $9/mo |
The overage rate is the same on all three published plans, so moving up a tier buys included resolutions rather than a better rate for the ones past the line.
None of that is unreasonable for a support desk. Support desks are priced per agent everywhere, and an AI that closes a ticket is doing work that costs real money. It is simply not the shape of a feedback board, where the only thing that grows is the number of customers who voted.
Why do people look for a Productlane alternative?
They wanted the portal, not the inbox. If support already runs somewhere else, you are paying per agent for an inbox nobody will open in order to get a feature request page.
The private portal is ninety nine dollars. A board that only signed in customers can see is a common requirement, and here it sits three tiers up.
The AI meter is hard to forecast. Twenty five resolutions is roughly one a working day. A busy week is an invoice you did not plan.
Linear. Productlane's integration story is built closest to Linear. That is excellent if you use Linear and irrelevant if you do not.
Is there a free Productlane alternative?
Productlane has no free plan, so the search makes sense.
UserJot is free forever with two boards and unlimited users. Quackback gives one board and fifty posts for nothing. Fider is free and open source if you host it. ProdCamp's free plan has two admins and unlimited feedback records. Productroad is free until fifty people have left feedback.
There is no free plan on this product. The trial is fourteen days, it asks for a card at signup, and the bill after it is nine dollars a month for one project or thirty nine for unlimited ones.
What happens to a feature request in each one?
In Productlane a request arrives in the inbox, gets tied to a customer, and can be pushed into an issue. The AI drafts replies, the help centre updates itself, and the changelog goes out when the work ships. The loop is closed by support.
Here the request arrives on a public board, the customers who want it vote, and each vote carries the weight of the revenue behind the person who cast it. The tier multipliers are set by you, the weight is stamped at the moment of the vote, and the plain count sits next to the weighted total. The loop is closed by the ranking.
They are answering different questions. Productlane answers how do we reply to everybody faster. This answers which of these do we build first.
Which should you choose?
Productlane, if support and product are the same two people and you want one tool for both. Twenty nine dollars a head with a real AI agent attached is a fair price for a support desk, and the portal comes free with it.
Productlane Scale, if the board has to be private or multilingual. Those are the features that pull the price to ninety nine, and nothing lower has them.
This product, if you already have a support tool and want the board to rank by revenue. Nine dollars a month, nobody metered, and no per resolution line on the bill.
What this costs
Lite

Pro

Lifetime
$999 once
Fourteen day trial of Pro, card asked for at signup. Nothing here counts the people who vote, so the bill does not move when the board starts working. The long version, with what happens if you stop paying.
